SYNCHRONOUS COLON CANCER ASSOCIATED WITH IDIOPATHIC THROMBOCYTOPENIC PURPURA. CLINICAL CASE.

We present а rare clinical case of successful surgical treatment - combined left-sided hemicolectomy and cecal resection for colon cancer of two locations in a patient with idiopathic thrombocytopenic purpura, which, in our opinion, is due to radiation exposure is presented. It is shown that the biological effects of long-term ionizing radiation on critical organs can have a diverse nature both in terms of the time of occurrence and in their structure, which requires an individual approach, the involvement of related specialists and the necessary medical preoperative preparation for precise planning of surgical intervention taking into account all possible risks.

Liver sinusoidal endothelial cells rely on oxidative phosphorylation but avoid processing long-chain fatty acids in their mitochondria.

Background: It is generally accepted that endothelial cells (ECs), primarily rely on glycolysis for ATP production, despite having functional mitochondria. However, it is also known that ECs are heterogeneous, and their phenotypic features depend on the vascular bed. Emerging evidence suggests that liver sinusoidal ECs (LSECs), located in the metabolically rich environment of the liver, show high metabolic plasticity.

INFLUENCE OF IONIZING RADIATION ON THE DEVELOPMENT OF BREAST CANCER.

Since the start of the war in Ukraine, almost 8 million people left the country; more than 1 million of them relocated to Germany. It is to be expected that the war puts considerable strain on refugees, which will impact the public health system in host countries. This paper presents baseline data and protocol of longitudinal online experimental study of 619 Ukrainian refugees in Germany started in autumn 2022, focusing on participants' self-reports of appetite, food intake, and levels of stress, anxiety, and depressive symptoms to examine their associations.

Despite current research in the development of drugbased cytostatic and targeted therapies in the treatment of breast cancer, radiation therapy (RT) is an important component in the treatment of this pathology in the postoperative period. At the same time, an important problem is the development of pathological changes in the heart in the longterm period, which worsen the quality of life and increase the risk of cardiac death 10 or more years after RT The problem of heart damage due to RT is gaining new significance due to the existing increase in the number of cancer patients requiring radiation exposure in the modern world. RT of malignant tumors of the breast and organs of the chest cavity causes damage to all structures of the heart, including the coronary arteries, valves, conducting system, pericardium.

MALIGNANT TUMORS OF THE APPENDIX: CLINICAL AND MORPHOLOGICAL ANALYSIS OF CASES FROM THE PRACTICE.

The authors have analyzed medical histories of two patients, treated in health care facilities of Kharkiv region from 2008 to 2020. These patients underwent urgent appendectomy, given the existing clinic of acute appendicitis. Morphological examination of the surgical material allowed us to diagnose adenocarcinoma in one case, and neuroendocrine tumor in combination with endometriosis in the other case.

The number of amputation decreased over the last 10-15 years. Some researchers associate the improvement of treatment outcomes with the development of combined and complex methods.

ANALYSIS OF STRUCTURAL AND FUNCTIONAL PARAMETERS OF THE THYROID GLAND IN PATIENTS WITH MALIGNANT BREAST TUMORS, WHO SUFFERED FROM THE CHORNOBYL ACCIDENT.

Objective: Study the nature of structural and functional changes in the thyroid gland in patients with malignant tumors of the mammary glands that have suffered from the Chornobyl accident.

Materials And Methods: Examination of 80 patients with malignant tumors of the mammary glands at the age of 27-85 years. In 78 patients were diagnosed with breast cancer with different stages of the spread of the tumor process.

Enhanced Nonlinear Optical Effect in Hybrid Liquid Crystal Cells Based on Photonic Crystal.

Nonlinear-optical response of photorefractive hybrid liquid crystal (LC) cells has been studied by means of dynamic holographic technique in two-wave mixing arrangement. The LC cells include nonuniform silicon substrates comprising a micrometer-range photonic crystal. A thin LC layer is set between silicon substrate and a flat glass substrate covered by a transparent (ITO) electrode.

[Laparoscopic surgery performed for focal liver pathology of various etiology].

The own experience on surgical treatment of more than 400 patients, suffering parasytic and nonparasitic hepatic cysts, benign and malignant hepatic tumors, using laparoscopic technologies, was summarized. Indications for laparoscopic operations, the main technical aspects, immediate and late follow-up results were analyzed. Advantages of laparoscopic operations in comparison to open operative interventions in thoroughly selected patients were noted.

[Stenosing papillitis--a problem of miniinvasive surgery].

The results of conduction of endoscopic transpapillary interventions in 976 patients, suffering stenosing papillitis in 2000 - 2014 yrs, were summarized. In 48 (4.9%) patients complications have had occurr, all the patients are alive.

Accumulated in 2004-2014 yrs in Department of laparoscopic surgery and choledocholithiasis experience of treatment in patients, suffering parasitic and nonparasitic hepatic cysts, was analyzed. Own improved classification of hepatic cystic lesions was proposed. Peculiarities of performance of open operations, of the puncture miniinvasive operations and interventions for hepatic cysts, using laparoscopic approach, were enlighten.

Structural and functional thyroid abnormalities in patients with dyshormonal breast disorders and tumors.

Rationale of the research in a field of benign dishormonal breast disease is described. Clinical data indicate that increased incidence of benign dishormonal breast disease is followed by the increase of thyroid morbidity. Thyroid hypofunction is shown as having an unfavorable role in the onset and course of dishormonal breast disorders and breast cancer.

[Experience of high frequency electric welding in endocrine surgery].

The comparative analsis of the effectiveness of surgical interventions performed by the standard method and using electric welding technology in endocrine surgery was hold. Compared duration of surgery, amount of intraoperatve blood loss, frequency of intra- and early postoperative complications. Found that the use of weding technology ensures shorter duration of surgery, on average by 30%, amount of blood loss--by 20-50%, the frequency of intra- and early postoperative complications.

[Alternative method of prognostication of an acute pancreatitis].

Changes in the neutrophils system of peripheral blood in 26 patients, suffering different forms of an acute pancreatitis, were studied. Concordance between results of the acute pancreatitis prognostication in accordance with the Ranson and APACHE II scales and structural-functional state of the neutrophils system were established. Technological quality, speed of performance, sensitivity, objectiveness constitute advantages of a new method of estimation.

[Peculiarities of postoperative complications in laparoscopic surgery].

[Assessment of protein synthesizing function of the liver in experimental hepatitis].

Liver protein synthesis was estimated comparing the levels of prothrombin and its inactive form PIVKA-prothrombin. The latter indicates liver dysfunction. These diagnostic tests allow monitoring the effectiveness of the commonly applied preparation "Essentiale Forte" and that of the liposomal form of the biologically active additive (BAA) FLP-MD based on phospholipids of various origin.

[Study of changes in the system of the blood neutrophils in acute pancreatitis].

The changes in a system of the blood neutrophils in 65 patients, suffering different forms of an acute pancreatitis, were studied. The trustworthy differences in a neutrophils system structure were determined in patients while their effective conservative treatment, effective surgical treatment, complicated course of postoperative period and exitus lethalis. This data permit to adjust a base for algorithm creation on prognostication, diagnosis and monitoring in patients, suffering an acute pancreatitis.

[Study of bone marrow in patients with breast cancer to detect tumor cells and their complexes].

The article presents results of the research of bone marrow of patients with breast cancer (BC) for the presence of tumor cells and their complexes using cytological and immunological methods of diagnostics. The results were compared with the works of foreign scientists working in oncology and it correlates with them. Quite a large percentage of detection of tumor cells in bone marrow even under I-II and III stages of the disease and a clear relationship with the clinical course: local recurrence, bone and visceral metastasis indicate that these data can be used in complex examination of patients with BC and take into account when planning the tactics of the treatment and follow-up during systemic polychemotherapy and hormonal therapy.

[Characteristics of the bile-acid spectrum of the bile and duodenal content in mice in drug-induced hepatitis and during correction therapy].

Medicamentous hepatitis in mice is accompanied by infringement of synthetic, conjugative and eliminative liver functions. It is experimentally proved, that chemical composition of bile and duodenal contents may be corrected by including drugs with reparation actions in the rehabilitation circuit, in particular those made on the basis of phospholipids of various origin: biologically active additive FLP-MD and preparation "Essentiale".
