Protocol for a multi-site randomised controlled feasibility study investigating intermittently scanned blood continuous glucose monitoring use for gestational diabetes: the RECOGNISE study.

Background: Incidence of gestational diabetes mellitus (GDM) is increasing and is associated with adverse perinatal outcomes including macrosomia, pre-eclampsia, and pre-term delivery. Optimum glycaemic control can reduce these adverse perinatal outcomes. Continuous glucose monitoring (CGM) informs users about interstitial glucose levels allowing early detection of glycaemic excursions and pharmacological or behavioural intervention.

Postoperative naproxen after coronary artery bypass surgery: a double-blind randomized controlled trial.

Objective: Non-steroidal anti-inflammatory drugs (NSAIDs) are routinely used after coronary artery bypass surgery (CABG), yet their effects have seldom been evaluated in randomized controlled settings. The aim of this study was to examine the efficacy and safety of a commonly used NSAID, naproxen. We hypothesized that naproxen would reduce postoperative pain following CABG without increasing complications.

The government is trying to criminalise 'aggravated' trespass and many forms of protest. It also wants to repeal the 1968 Caravans Act, which obliges councils to provide sites for gypsy families, to abolish the right to remain silent when arrested, to give the police new powers to arrest those who they think might be ravers, protestors or travellers (including gypsies) and the power to form exclusion zones, thus limiting totally the rights to freedom of movement and of association.
