Case Report: One heart with two lobes: a rare infantile congenital giant left atrial appendage aneurysm.

Left atrial appendage aneurysm (LAAA) is an extremely rare congenital heart abnormality, with varying degrees of symptoms, ranging from asymptomatic to arrhythmia, thromboembolic event or airway obstruction. Most infantile cases were incidentally found by echocardiography. Contrast-enhanced chest tomography can confirm the diagnosis and inform surgical plan.

Generation of on-demand quasi-Mathieu beams with a controlled generation of spatial spectrum of angular Mathieu-Gauss functions with a digital laser.

This study provided an intra-cavity method for the selective generation of all kinds of quasi-Mathieu beams. The method employed L-type digital lasers to selectively generate the Fourier spectrum of the gaussian-modulated angular Mathieu function. The lasing field then underwent a Fourier-transform with an extra-cavity lens, and was converted into quasi-Mathieu beams after passing through an axicon.

Polarization dependence of Cs 6S-6P-11S electromagnetically induced transparency at room temperature.

The effect of polarization on the ladder-type electromagnetically induced transparency (EIT) spectra of Cs atoms at room temperature for the transitions 6P-6P-11S is experimentally studied. The entire spectra with additional peaks arising from the Doppler effect are observed. As the relative angle between the probe's and coupling's plane of polarization arranges at 0, 45, and 90, the peak height ratio of 44'3" to 44'4" increases by more than 7 times with corresponding values of 0.
