Background: Iduronate-2-sulfatase (IDS) deficiency (MPS II; Hunter syndrome) is a disorder that exhibits peripheral and CNS pathology. The blood brain barrier (BBB) prevents systemic enzyme replacement therapy (ERT) from alleviating CNS pathology. We aimed to enable brain delivery of systemic ERT by using molecular BBB-Trojans targeting endothelial transcytosis receptors.

ED physicians vary widely in their propensity to admit patients to the hospital, but it is unknown whether higher admission propensities result in lower subsequent mortality rates.

The catalyst-in-bag system incorporates a soluble enantioselective dirhodium complex catalyst within a reusable, commercial dialysis membrane. Dirhodium catalysts of different sizes are examined, and two catalysts with molecular weights above 2400 Da are well-retained by the membrane.

Immunotherapies targeting PD-1/PD-L1 are now widely used in the clinic to treat a variety of malignancies. While most of the research on T cell exhaustion and PD-1 blockade has been focused on conventional αβ T cells, the contribution of innate-like T cells such as γδ T cells to anti-PD-1/PD-L1 mediated therapy is limited. Obesity is a common finding and a major pathogenetic factor in obstructive sleep apnea (OSA) in adults. To understand the mechanisms behind this, the present study investigated the tissue properties and respiratory kinematics of the tongue base and soft palate in the obese OSA minipig model. In 4 verified obese/OSA and 3 non-obese/non-OSA control minipigs, MRI fat-weighted images, ultrasound elastography (USE), and sleep video-fluoroscopy (SVF) were performed to quantify the fat composition, tissue stiffness, and respiratory kinematics of the tongue base and soft palate during sedated sleep.
