Fluorescence microscopic images of cells contain a large number of morphological features that are used as an unbiased source of quantitative information about cell status, through which researchers can extract quantitative information about cells and study the biological phenomena of cells through statistical and analytical analysis. As an important research object of phenotypic analysis, images have a great influence on the research results. Saturation artifacts present in the image result in a loss of grayscale information that does not reveal the true value of fluorescence intensity.

Heart diseases such as myocardial ischemia (MI) are the main causes of human death. The prediction of MI and arrhythmia is an effective method for the early detection, diagnosis, and treatment of heart disease. For the rapid detection of arrhythmia and myocardial ischemia, the electrocardiogram (ECG) is widely used in clinical diagnosis, and its detection equipment and algorithm are constantly optimized.

Background: This study aimed to evaluate the effects of different pretreatment methods on the microbial yield from infectious tissues.

Methods: Strains of Staphylococcus aureus (SA), Escherichia coli (EC) and Candida albicans (CA) were used to construct single-surface, full-surface, and internal infection models in sterile pork tissue. Manual milling (MM), mechanical homogenization (MH), sonificated (SF), dithiothreitol (DTT), and direct culture (DC) were used to pretreat these tissues, the microbial yield from different pretreatment methods were recorded and compared.

Aims: Microbiological culture is a key element in the diagnosis of periprosthetic joint infection (PJI). However, cultures of periprosthetic tissue do not have optimal sensitivity. One of the main reasons for this is that microorganisms are not released from the tissues, either due to biofilm formation or intracellular persistence.
