Background: Many studies have assessed the relationship between gene polymorphisms in multidrug resistance protein 3 (MDR3) and the risk of intrahepatic cholestasis of pregnancy (ICP); however, there are many conflicting narratives.
Objectives: This meta-analysis was conducted to assess the association between MDR3 gene polymorphisms and ICP.
Material And Methods: A multi-database search was conducted using Web of Science, Embase, PubMed, and Chinese Biomedical Literature (CBM) databases.
Background And Aims: Tenofovir amibufenamide (TMF) is a novel phosphoramidated prodrug of tenofovir with noninferior efficacy and better bone and renal safety to tenofovir disoproxil fumarate (TDF) in 48 weeks of treatment. Here, we update 96-week comparison results.
Methods: Patients with chronic hepatitis B were assigned (2:1) to receive either 25 mg TMF or 300 mg TDF with matching placebo for 96 weeks.
Genetic variation in UDP-glucuronosyltransferase 1A1 gene (UGT1A1) is a lithogenic risk factor for gallstone formation. This study aimed to assess genotype and allele frequencies of common UGT1A1 variants in patients with gallstone and hepatitis B virus (HBV)-related hepatic failure. This study enrolled 113 healthy individuals (CTRL), 54 patients with HBV infection (HBV), 134 patients with gallstone-free hepatic failure and HBV infection, and 34 patients with gallstone-related hepatic failure and HBV infection (GRHF).

The mechanism underlying protection in AILI or DILI remains to be elucidated, and the role of early growth response 1 (Egr1) in AILI and potential mechanisms remain to be known. : The role of Egr1 was studied both and .

The management of DILI mainly involves the withdrawal of the offending drug, and there is a lack of specific therapy.

Aim: To compare the efficacy and safety of TMF and TDF for 48 weeks in patients with chronic hepatitis B (CHB).
Methods: We performed a randomised, double-blind, non-inferiority study at 49 sites in China.
Background: Acute fatty liver of pregnancy (AFLP) is an acute, rare and potentially lethal disease typically occurring in the third trimester of pregnancy. So far, there is no effective means of prevention. Therefore, in this study, we retrospectively analyzed the clinical features of AFLP patients for a better understanding.

This phase 2 study compared the efficacy and safety of oral pradefovir (30, 45, 60, or 75 mg) versus tenofovir disoproxil fumarate (TDF; 300 mg) and aimed to identify the most appropriate dose of pradefovir for the forthcoming phase 3 study.
Methods: Treatment-naive and experienced (not on treatment >6 months) patients with chronic hepatitis B were eligible.
Background: To evaluate the efficacy and safety of telbivudine in chronic hepatitis B women during the second and third trimesters of pregnancy.
Methods: The week 12-34 of pregnant women were screened in this prospective non-intervention study, with HBV DNA > 10 IU/mL and alanine aminotransferase > 50 IU/L. The patients were received telbivudine treatment as a treatment group or without antiviral treatment as a control group.
Background & Aims: We performed a nationwide, retrospective study to determine the incidence and causes of drug-induced liver injury (DILI) in mainland China.
Methods: We collected data on a total of 25,927 confirmed DILI cases, hospitalized from 2012 through 2014 at 308 medical centers in mainland China. We collected demographic, medical history, treatment, laboratory, disease severity, and mortality data from all patients.

As an analgesic and antipyretic drug, acetaminophen (APAP) is commonly used and known to be safe at therapeutic doses. In many countries, the overuse of APAP provokes acute liver injury and even liver failure. APAP-induced liver injury (AILI) is the most used experimental model of drug-induced liver injury (DILI).

Clinical data of 28 patients with Fanconi syndrome caused by long-term administration of adefovir dipivoxil for the treatment of chronic hepatitis B virus (HBV) infection were collected pre-and post-administration for analysis. Patients presented with fatigue, progressive systemic pain in multiple bones and joints, as well as difficulty in walking and pathological fractures in a number of severe cases.
