Background: Our study aimed to investigate the embryological characteristics and clinical outcomes of oocytes with indented zona pellucida (iZP).
Methods: Cases with all oocytes containing iZP were compared with subjects whose oocytes presented morphologically normal ZP (nZP, controls), regarding embryological and clinical outcomes. Cases consisted of 56 subjects that underwent 109 assisted reproductive treatment (ART) cycles, and controls were made of 574 patients that were enrolled in 1095 ART cycles.
Untargeted metabolomics can be used for the comprehensive analysis of metabolite profiles in biological samples without preset targets, making them particularly suitable for exploring metabolic characteristics and potential mechanisms in complex diseases. Therefore, in this study, we employed gas chromatography-mass spectrometry (GC-MS) and liquid chromatography-mass spectrometry (LC-MS) techniques to analyze the serum metabolic characteristics of patients with pregnancy-associated venous thromboembolism (PA-VTE). In this study, 11 pregnant women with VTE and 11 healthy pregnant women were included in the experimental and control groups, respectively.

Inflammatory reaction and neovascularization are crucial physiological processes that occur during postoperative wound healing. However, excessive inflammatory response and uncontrolled angiogenesis lead to scar formation, which severely limits the success rate of glaucoma filtration surgery. Peptide hydrogels were well-established to possess good biocompatibility, inherent biodegradability, extracellular matrix analog property, and high drug loading efficiency.

We investigated the relationship between fecal gut microbiome (GM) and intestinal tissue miRNAs in different stages of pediatric CD. Metagenomic analysis and miRNA sequencing were conducted to examine the GM and intestinal miRNA profiles of CD patients before and after clinical induction therapy and the controls.

Objective: To investigate the contribution of longitudinal mean arterial pressure (MAP) measurement during the first, second, and third trimesters of twin pregnancies to the prediction of pre-eclampsia.
Methods: A retrospective cohort study was conducted on women with twin pregnancies. Historical data between 2019 and 2021 were analyzed, including maternal characteristics and mean artery pressure measurements were obtained at 11-13, 22-24, and 28-33 weeks of gestation.
Background: With recent advances in gene sequencing technology, more than 60 genetic mutations associated with very early onset inflammatory bowel disease (VEO-IBD) have been reported. Most of the genes are associated with immune deficiencies. The Myosin 5B (MYO5B) gene is primarily involved in cell motility and material transport which is associated with congenital intractable diarrhea and cholestasis.

The photocatalytic CO-to-CH conversion involves multiple consecutive proton-electron coupling transfer processes. Achieving high CH selectivity with satisfactory conversion efficiency remains challenging since the inefficient proton and electron delivery path results in sluggish proton-electron transfer kinetics. Herein, we propose the fabrication of atomically adjacent anion-cation vacancy as paired redox active sites that could maximally promote the proton- and electron-donating efficiency to simultaneously enhance the oxidation and reduction half-reactions, achieving higher photocatalytic CO reduction activity and CH selectivity.

This study aims to investigate the relationship between dyslipidemia in expectant mothers and the risks of PTB. We studied 6963 mothers who gave birth at the International Peace Maternal and Child Health Hospital of Shanghai Jiaotong University School of Medicine in 2020, among which, 437 women had PTB.

Enrichment of erythrocytes is a necessary step in the diagnosis of blood diseases. Due to the high deformability and viscosity of erythrocytes, they cannot be regarded as stable point-like solids, so the influence of their deformability on fluid dynamics must be considered. Therefore, by using the special effect of an I-shaped pillar (I-pillar) on erythrocytes, erythrocytes with different deformability can be made to produce different provisional distances in the chip, so as to achieve the separation of the two kinds of erythrocytes.

This prospective study aimed to investigate the values of mutations in circulating tumor DNA (ctDNA) and their dynamic changes in predicting response of mPDAC to NPS chemotherapy.
Methods: Paired tumor tissue and blood samples were prospectively collected from patients with mPDAC receiving first-line NPS chemotherapy, and underwent next-generation sequencing with genomic profiling of 425 genes for ctDNA.
In organic light-emitting diode (OLED), achieving high efficiency requires effective triplet exciton confinement by carrier-transporting materials, which typically have higher triplet energy (E) than the emitter, leading to poor stability. Here, an electron-transporting material (ETM), whose E is 0.32 eV lower than that of the emitter is reported.

Therefore, the development of anticancer drugs targeting the PI3K and mTOR pathways has become a research hotspot in cancer treatment. In this study, the PI3K selective inhibitor GDC-0941 was selected as a lead compound, and 28 thiophenyl-triazine derivatives with aromatic urea structures were synthesized based on scaffold hopping, serving as a novel class of PI3K/mTOR dual inhibitors.

In this study, we investigated the bottom-up (rhizosphere→rhizome→root→leaf) long-distance responses and bio-enrichment characteristics of ginger to different sulfamethoxazole (SMX) and chromium (Cr) contamination patterns. The results showed that ginger root systems adapted to SMX- and/or Cr-stress by increasing humic-like exudates, which may help to maintain the rhizosphere indigenous bacterial phyla (i.

Therefore, this study aimed to explore whether the recombinant measles virus vaccine strain rMV-Hu191 has an oncolytic effect against ESCC cells in vitro and in vivo and elucidate the underlying mechanisms. Our results showed that rMV-Hu191 could efficiently replicate in and kill ESCC cells through caspase-3/GSDME-mediated pyroptosis.
