Background: Fibroblasts and/or collagen fibrils have not been included in previous cytologic grading schemes of canine mast cell tumors (MCTs), and their association with biological behavior is broadly debated.

Objectives: This study aimed to evaluate the cytologic findings of canine MCT, with emphasis on the microenvironment, and propose a novel cytologic grading system correlated with mortality and histologic grade.

Material And Methods: Cytology smears of canine cutaneous MCTs were retrospectively reviewed and compared with their histopathologic counterparts using Cohen´s Kappa test.

 To compare the plantar pressure distribution and the kinematics of the rearfoot on the stance phase of subjects with or without patellofemoral pain syndrome (PFPS).  A total of 26 subjects with PFPS and 31 clinically healthy subjects, who were paired regarding age, height and mass, participated in the study. The plantar pressure distribution (peak pressure) was assessed in six plantar regions, as well as the kinematics of the rearfoot (maximum eversion angle, percentage of the stance phase when the maximum angle was reached, and percentage of the stance phase in which the rearfoot was in eversion).

Background: The Trinity Amputation and Prosthesis Experience Scales-Revised assesses adjustment to amputation and to using a prosthesis and considers psychosocial adjustment, activity restriction, satisfaction with the prosthesis, and other aspects related to health and physical activities, including residual and phantom limb pain.

Objectives: The aim of this study was to assess the semantic equivalence of the Trinity Amputation and Prosthesis Experience Scales-Revised when translated into Brazilian Portuguese.

Clean surface gold nanoparticles (AuNPs) of ∼6.6 nm that were confined in ionic liquid (IL) cages of hybrid γ-alumina (γ-AlO) displayed hydrogenation pathways in the reduction of trans-cinnamaldehyde distinct from those imprinted directly onto γ-AlO. Hydrogen activation proceeded via homolytic activation in IL-encapsulated AuNPs and via heterolytic cleavage for IL-free supported AuNPs.

Well-distributed Ru nanoparticles (Ru-NPs) were produced over Al(2)O(3) supports modified with covalently anchored imidazolium ionic liquids (ILs) containing different anions and cation lateral alkyl chain lengths by simple sputtering from a Ru foil. These Ru-NPs were active catalysts for the hydrogenation of benzene. Furthermore, depending on the nature of the IL used to modify the support (hydrophilic or hydrophobic), different catalytic behaviours were observed.

Unsupported bimetallic Co/Pt nanoparticles (NPs) of 4.4 ± 1.9 nm can be easily obtained by a simple reaction of [bis(cylopentadienyl)cobalt(ii)] and [tris(dibenzylideneacetone) bisplatinum(0)] complexes in 1-n-butyl-3-methylimidazolium hexafluorophosphate IL at 150 °C under hydrogen (10 bar) for 24 h.

Pt-Pd bimetallic alloy nanoparticles (NPs) dispersed in the ionic liquid 1-butyl-3-methylimidazolium hexafluorophosphate (Pt-Pd-BMI·PF6) were employed together with a peroxidase (PO) enzyme from cauliflower immobilized on nanoclay for the development of a new biosensor for polyphenol determination by square-wave voltammetry (SWV). The biosensor demonstrated good repeatability and reproducibility, low limit of detection (LOD = 3.7 × 10(-7) mol L(-1) for caffeic acid (CA)), and adequate lifetime and stability (maintaining over 80% of the response over 80 days of evaluation, and allowing over 600 measurements by SWV for each electrode).
