Genetic profiling of osteosarcoma in an adolescent using a next‑generation sequencing panel and Sanger sequencing: A case report and review of the literature.

Osteosarcoma (OS) is the most common malignant bone tumor affecting adolescents and young adults and it usually occurs in the long bones of the extremities. The detection of cancer-related genetic alterations has a growing effect in guiding diagnosis, prognosis and targeted therapies. However, little is known about the molecular aspects involved in the etiology and progression of OS, which limits options for targeted therapies.

Prevalence and factors associated with musculoskeletal pain among hospital cleaning staff.

Objetivos: verificar a prevalência e os fatores associados à dor musculoesquelética em trabalhadores do serviço hospitalar de limpeza.

MÉtodos: estudo transversal, realizado com trabalhadores de limpeza de um hospital de ensino do Sul do Brasil. Utilizaram-se questionário com variáveis sociodemográficas, laborais e de saúde, o Nordic Musculoskeletal Questionnaire e o Diagrama de Corlett e Manenica.

Background: The prevention of perinatal human immunodeficiency virus (HIV) transmission depends on the safe and effective use of antiretroviral therapy (ART). We evaluated the safety and efficacy of dolutegravir (DTG) plus lamivudine (3TC) for antiretroviral-naive pregnant women with HIV.

Nursing Process implementation in a gerontogeriatric context: qualitative research.

Objective: to describe Nursing Process implementation in a faith-based senior living community.

Method: strategic action research with 19 nursing professionals and three managers of a faith-based senior living community. Implementation took place in four phases: diagnosis, planning, implementation and assessment.

Efficacy of auriculotherapy for decreasing anxiety and stress among perioperative nursing workers: a mixed study.

Objective: to analyze the effectiveness of auriculotherapy for decreasing anxiety and stress of perioperative nursing professionals.

Method: mixed methods research, embedded experimental model. In the quantitative stage, a randomized, triple-blind clinical trial was conducted with perioperative nursing professionals, who answered a characterization questionnaire, the List of Signs and Symptoms of Stress, and the General Anxiety Disorder-GAD 7.

Bacteria-Derived Cellulose Membranes Modified with Graphene Oxide-Silver Nanoparticles for Accelerating Wound Healing.

This study reports on the modification of bacterial cellulose (BC) membranes produced by static fermentation of bacterial strains with graphene oxide-silver nanoparticles (GO-Ag) to yield skin wound dressings with improved antibacterial properties. The GO-Ag sheets were synthesized through chemical reduction with sodium citrate and were utilized to functionalize the BC membranes (BC/GO-Ag). The BC/GO-Ag composites were characterized to determine their surface charge, morphology, exudate absorption, antimicrobial activity, and cytotoxicity by using fibroblast cells.

Ergonomic risks and musculoskeletal pain in hospital cleaning workers: Convergent Care Research with mixed methods.

Objective: to analyze exposure to ergonomic risks and the occurrence of musculoskeletal pain in workers in the Hospital Cleaning Service.

Method: Convergent Care Research, with data production designed using mixed methods, implemented with 149 hospital cleaning workers. The methodological strategy of the convergent parallel project was employed, using observation, photographic records, questionnaires and convergence groups.

Background: Currently, integrase inhibitors (INIs)-based ART regimens are the preferred initial therapy for AIDS patients. There is scarce information on the use of dolutegravir (DTG) among late-presenter people living with HIV (PLHIV).

Objectives: To compare the effect of DTG- or efavirenz (EFV)-based regimens on the outcomes of patients with advanced AIDS.

We conducted a retrospective analysis covering 478 isolates.

The direct and selective conversion of a C-H bond into a C-Se bond remains a significant challenge, which is even more intricate with substrates having an innate regioselectivity under several reaction conditions, such as chalcogenophenes. We overrode their selectivity toward selanylation using palladium, copper, and the 2-(methylthio)amide directing group. This chelation-assisted direct selanylation was also suitable for mono and double ortho functionalization of arenes.

Silver-catalyzed direct selanylation of indoles: synthesis and mechanistic insights.

Herein we describe the Ag(i)-catalyzed direct selanylation of indoles with diorganoyl diselenides. The reaction gave 3-selanylindoles with high regioselectivity and also allowed direct access to 2-selanylindoles when the C3 position of the indole ring was blocked a process similar to Plancher rearrangement. Experimental analyses and density functional theory calculations were carried out in order to picture the reaction mechanism.

HIV, HTLV, and Hepatitis B and C Infection in Blood Donors in Bahia, Brazil from 2008 to 2017.

Although blood transfusion is an important therapeutic resource, transfusion-transmitted infections (TTIs) are still a cause for concern. Measures to mitigate this risk involve improvement of donor screening criteria and improvements in laboratory tests, especially the use of nucleic acid test (NAT). In this retrospective study we evaluated HIV, HTLV, HCV and HBV infection rates in blood donors of the Hematology and Hemotherapy Foundation of Bahia (Hemoba), Brazil, through serological and NAT results and the characteristics of donors.

Monkeypox infection is rapidly spreading across the world. Despite the increasing number of cases, only a few reports have been published, and most are on people living without HIV. We report here the first two cases of monkeypox infection in Bahia, Brazil, one of them in a person living with HIV, on stable treatment.

Transition metal catalysed direct sulfanylations of unreactive C-H bonds have become a unique and straightforward synthetic strategy in late-stage C-S bond formation of relevant complex molecules. Such transformations represent a breakthrough in modern synthetic organic chemistry, as they offer unusual reactivity patterns and avoid pre-functionalization of the starting materials. Despite inherent challenges in activating/functionalizing unreactive C-H bonds, a considerable number of different transition metals have shown the ability to selectively catalyze these processes toward C-S bond formation.

The structure of the title compounds 3-bromo-2-(phenyl-sulfan-yl)benzo[]thiophene (CHBrS; ), 3-iodo-2-(phenyl-sulfan-yl)benzo[]thio-phene (CHIS; ), 3-bromo-2-(phenyl-selan-yl)benzo[]seleno-phene (CHBrSe; ), and 3-iodo-2-(phenyl-selan-yl)benzo[]seleno-phene (CHISe; ) were determined by single-crystal X-ray diffraction; all structures presented monoclinic (2/) symmetry.
