With the aging of society and changes in lifestyle, the incidence of neurological diseases (NDs) has been increasing year by year, bringing a heavy burden to patients and society. Although the efficacy of chemical drugs in the treatment of NDs is remarkable, there are problems such as high side effects and high costs. Therefore, finding mild and efficient drugs for NDs treatment has become an urgent clinical need.

Epigallocatechin-3-gallate (EGCG) is a natural compound known for effectively promoting wound healing and its potent anti-inflammatory effects. However, its application is limited due to its susceptibility to oxidation and isomerization, which alter its structure.

The carotenoids content was determined using the ratio of the Raman peak intensities at 1525 and 1268 cm (I). When different samples (harvest times and storage conditions) were soaked in water for 0-24 h, the carotenoids content in the embryonic axes gradually increased, with the carotenoids higher in fresher seeds.

Objective: To investigate the preventive effects of aqueous extract (ICAE) on high-fat diet (HFD)-induced fatty liver of mice and its mechanisms.
Materials And Methods: Twenty-six male KM (Kunming) mice were divided into 3 groups, including the control group ( = 9), fed with normal diet; HFD group ( = 9), fed with HFD; ICAE + HFD group ( = 8), fed with HFD and administered with ICAE (3 g·kg·d) at the same time for 10 weeks. Body weight, liver weight, intra-abdominal and subcutaneous fat weight, serum triglyceride (TG), total cholesterol (TC), and blood glucose were determined to evaluate the preventive effects of ICAE on obesity.
Silk fibroin (SF) films were modified with gelatin (G) to explore if such SF/G films could enhance the surface biocompatibility of silk as cell growth biomaterials. Ultrathin films were coated from aqueous SF solutions pre-mixed with different amounts of G. It was found that the SF/G blended films after methanol treatment were highly stable in physiological conditions.

A copolymer, poly(N-isopropylacrylamide-co-hydroxypropyl methacrylate-co-3-(trimethoxysilyl)propyl methacrylate) (abbreviated PNIPAAm copolymer), was synthesized by free radical polymerization. The thermoresponses of the copolymer in aqueous solution were demonstrated by dynamic light scattering (DLS) through detecting the sensitive changes of copolymer aggregation against temperature.
