Polyamines (PAs) are nitrogenous and polycationic compounds containing more than two amine residues. Numerous investigations have demonstrated that cellular PA homeostasis plays a key role in various developmental and physiological processes. The PA balance, which may be affected by many environmental factors, is finely maintained by the pathways of PA biosynthesis and degradation (catabolism).

Covalent bonding coating of quantum-sized TiO with polydopamine on catheter surface for synergistically enhanced antimicrobial and anticoagulant performances.

The catheters coating can be effective in reducing bloodstream infection and thrombosis, which are the major complications in blood contact catheters. However, the surface functional coating is difficult to be implemented due to the high surface stretching force from the minor-caliber. In this work, we propose a covalent bonding coating of polydopamine/titanium dioxide quantum dots (PDA/TiO QDs) on polyurethane (PU) catheters, which can fulfill a dual-function of antibacterial and antithrombosis.

Transcriptome Analysis of Native Kentucky Bluegrass ( L.) in Response to Osmotic Stress.

Kentucky bluegrass ( L.) is an important cool season turfgrass species with a high cold tolerance, but it is sensitive to drought. It is valuable for the applications of Kentucky bluegrass to improve its drought tolerance.

Study on the material basis and mechanism of Hemerocallis citrina Baroni on sleep-improvement using Drosophila activity monitoring, metabolomic, targeted screening and transcriptomic.

Daylily (Hemerocallis citrina Baroni, HC) is an edible plant and is traditionally considered with potential to improve sleep. Herein, based on the Drosophila activity monitoring, metabolome, targeted screening and transcriptome, the material basis and mechanism of HC on sleep-improvement was investigated. The results showed that the aqueous extracts of HC (HAE) as well as the ethanol extracts (HEE) all prolonged the total sleep time of insomnia fruit flies, especially HEE-60 and HEE-95 exhibited more significant effects.

Occurrence and removal of antibiotics from aquaculture wastewater by solar-driven Fe(VI)/oxone process.

In this study, the occurrence and removal of ten selected antibiotics from aquaculture wastewater by the process solar + Fe(VI)+oxone were investigated. The detection levels of the antibiotics in the aquaculture wastewater samples were at ng/L. The degradation of the selected antibiotics under the process solar + Fe(VI)+oxone followed pseudo-first-order kinetics.

Nursing Research on Patients with Chronic Obstructive Pulmonary Disease and Respiratory Failure Based on Big Data.

This work organically integrates a systematic and individualized nursing plan with big data technology and applies it to the care of patients with chronic obstructive pulmonary disease (COPD) and respiratory failure (RF) and explores the continuous care model based on modern big data technologies to improve COPD and RF. It aims to relieve the symptoms of COPD and RF, reduce the number of acute episodes of COPD and RF and the number of hospitalizations, and improve the quality of life of patients. One hundred COPD and RF patients hospitalized in the respiratory medicine department of a tertiary hospital were selected and were categorized into control and experimental group.

Two unprecedented wheel-shaped nanoscale clusters {Co(II)16Ln(III)24} (Ln = Dy and Gd), with a diameter and a thickness of 3.0 nm and 2.0 nm, respectively, were obtained from the self-assembly of Co(NO3)2, Ln(NO3)3 and a pyridyl-functionalized β-diketone ligand.
