Background: Porphyromonas gingivalis is the main pathogen of periodontal disease affecting over half of the worldwide adult population. Recent studies have shown that P. gingivalis is related to the development of non-alcoholic fatty liver disease (NAFLD), a global major chronic liver disease, especially in developed countries.
View Article and Find Full Text PDFThree series of curcumin derivatives including phosphorylated, etherified, and esterified products of curcumin were synthesized, and their anti-tumor activities were assessed against human breast cancer MCF-7, hepatocellular carcinoma Hep-G2, and human cervical carcinoma HeLa cells. Compared with curcumin, compounds 3, 8, and 9 exhibited stronger antitumor cell line growth activities against HeLa cells. Compound 12 also showed higher antitumor cell line growth activities on MCF-7 cells than curcumin.

As one of prominent members of period protein family which regulates biological rhythms, PER2 plays an important role in developing the milk duct and maintaining the polarity and the morphology of the mammary epithelium; at the same time, it is also closely related with the metabolism of milk protein and milk fat. This paper summarized recent researches on gene and related researches on mammary gland development and metabolism to provide some information for the studies of the theory and technology on physiological functions of the mammary gland and milk quality control.
