O-alkylation of the hydroxy compounds, including acetaminophen, starting compounds for the synthesis of the drug, and natural compounds with the bromides of dihydroartemisinin (DHA) and zerumbone, produced twenty novel ether conjugates 15a-j and 16a-j, respectively. Their structures were elucidated by 1D-, 2D-NMR, and HRMS data. Their in vitro cytotoxic activity was screened using three cancer cell lines: HepG2, HeLa, and PC-12.

Background: Hypertrophic cardiomyopathy (HCM) is a primary cardiac disorder characterized by myocardial hypertrophy without increased afterload. This study set out to describe the cardiac magnetic resonance (CMR) imaging characteristics of HCM and to evaluate correlations of selected CMR parameters with echocardiography.

Methods: This cross-sectional study enrolled 46 patients diagnosed at the Vietnam Heart Institute with HCM and underwent CMR at the Radiology Center, Bach Mai Hospital, from July 2021 to September 2022.

Introduction: Oral hygiene is a crucial factor in oral health, especially in children. To increase the awareness of oral care behaviour among children, oral care motivation plays a critical role in daily dental practices. Therefore, this cross-sectional study was conducted to investigate the current oral hygiene status and evaluate the association between oral care motivation and oral hygiene index in 7-9-year-old children at Primary School in Hanoi, Vietnam.

Introduction/aims: VCP multisystem proteinopathy 1 (MSP1), encompassing inclusion body myopathy (IBM), Paget's disease of bone (PDB) and frontotemporal dementia (FTD) (IBMPFD), features progressive muscle weakness, fatty infiltration, and disorganized bone structure in Pagetic bones. The aim of this study is to utilize dual-energy x-ray absorptiometry (DXA) parameters to examine it as a biomarker of muscle and bone disease in MSP1.

Methods: DXA scans were obtained in 28 patients to assess body composition parameters (bone mineral density [BMD], T-score, total fat, and lean mass) across different groups: total VCP disease (n = 19), including myopathy without Paget's ("myopathy"; n = 12) and myopathy with Paget's ("Paget"; n = 7), and unaffected first-degree relatives serving as controls (n = 6).

Introduction: Ischaemic stroke often leaves serious sequelae affecting patients' daily activities and quality of life, especially shoulder pain. Shoulder pain after stroke often occurs in the first 3 months with an occurrence rate of 25-72% due to the strong natural neurological mechanism during the time, interferes with the recovery of motor function, increases hospital stay, is associated with depression, and limits mobility as well as inhibits treatment results. In Vietnam, Traditional Medicine (TM) has played an essential role in treating and rehabilitating shoulder pain after stroke for quite a long time.

Objective: Medical adhesives are used to secure wound care dressings and other critical devices to the skin. While high peel-strength adhesives provide more secure skin attachment, they are difficult to remove from the skin and are correlated with medical adhesive-related skin injuries (MARSI), including skin tears, and an increased risk of infection. Lower-adhesion medical tapes may be applied to avoid MARSI, leading to dressing or device dislodgement and further medical complications.

Po concentration in the edible muscle tissue and digestive diverticulum organs of Asian overbite clam at the near-shore Thai Binh, Vietnam was analyzed using alpha detectors. The Po activity in muscle tissue and digestive diverticulum organs ranged from 5 ± 1 to 178 ± 10 and from 118 ± 7 to 812 ± 12 Bq.kg with the average value of 25 and 324 Bq.

Background: First pass effect (FPE), defined as single-pass complete or near complete reperfusion during endovascular thrombectomy (EVT) for large vessel occlusion (LVO) strokes, is a critical performance metric. Atrial fibrillation (AF)-related strokes have different clot composition compared with non-AF strokes, which may impact thrombectomy reperfusion results. We compared FPE rates in AF and non-AF stroke patients to evaluate if AF-related strokes had higher FPE rates.

Background: Emergency general surgery (EGS) patients have an increased risk of mortality and morbidity compared to other surgical patients. Limited risk assessment tools exist for use in both operative and non-operative EGS patients. We assessed the accuracy of a modified Emergency Surgical Acuity Score (mESAS) in EGS patients at our institution.

Integrated analyses using maximum likelihood (ML), Bayesian inference (BI), principal component analysis (PCA), discriminate analysis of principal components (DAPC), multiple factor analysis (MFA), and analysis of variance (ANOVA) recovered two new diagnosable species of gekkonid lizards in the genus , one from the Central Highlands, Gia Lai Province, Vietnam and another from the Vientiane Province, Laos. Phylogenetic analyses based on the mitochondrial NADH dehydrogenase subunit 2 gene (ND2) and adjacent tRNAs showed that is the sister species of from Dong Nai Province, Vietnam and is nested within a clade that also includes the sister species and . is the sister species to from Khammouane Province, Laos and is embedded in a clade with , , and undescribed species from Thailand.

Objective: Hemophilia A (HA) is an X-linked recessive bleeding disease caused by a deficiency or dysfunction of blood coagulation factor VIII (FVIII). Available treatment to replenish the missing factor may not reach a good outcome for all patients because of potential complications that include the development of inhibitor antibodies directed against factor VIII. Therefore, the prevention of transmitting pathogenic mutations to the next generation is the best solution for this disease.

The field of cancer genetic testing has made great advances in correctly identifying patients at risk for hereditary cancer syndromes. These tests, used during a genetic consultation, promote earlier detection of cancer and potentially increase survival. Despite these advancements, a large number of persons at risk for BRCA1/2 mutations remain untested due to a shortage of genetic counselors and lack of clinician knowledge on how to properly screen, identify, and refer patients to genetic counseling.

Based on 85 examined specimens, photographs of living specimens and illustrations published in the literature, we refine the distribution ranges of both Gonyosoma prasinum (Blyth, 1854) and of the recently described species Gonyosoma coeruleum Liu, Hou, Ye Htet Lwin, Wang Rao, 2021, which was not clearly addressed in its original description. We also redescribe the syntypes of Coluber prasinus Blyth, 1854 and the holotype of Gonyosoma gramineum Gnther, 1864, we discuss the status of this latter taxon, and we describe the hemipenial morphology of G. coeruleum.

Objective: This article describes the Personalized Reimbursement Model (PRM) program methodology, limitations, achievement and perspectives in using real-world data of cancer drugs use to improve and personalize drug pricing and reimbursement in France.

Materials And Methods: PRM platform aggregates Electronic Pharmacy Records (EPR) data from French medical centers (PRM centers) to build retrospective cohorts of patients treated with injectable cancer drugs in a hospital setting. Data extracted on January 1st, 2020, from breast cancer (BC) patients who received trastuzumab, trastuzumab emtansin or pertuzumab since January 1st, 2011, and from lung cancer (LC) patients who received bevacizumab or atezolizumab since January 1st, 2015, enabled recovering their injectable cancer drugs history from diagnosis date until December 30th, 2019, and served as dataset for assessment.

The differentiation of cardiac fibroblasts to myofibroblasts is considered to be a critical step in activation and progression of cardiac fibrosis in heart disease. TGF-β is one of the key cytokines that promotes transition of fibroblasts to myofibroblasts. Dedifferentiation of formed myofibroblasts or reversal of formed myofibroblasts to fibroblasts remains incompletely understood.
