Synthesis, X-ray Crystallography, Spectroscopic Characterizations, Density Functional Theory, and Hirshfeld Surface Analyses of a Novel (Carbonato) Picket Fence Iron(III) Complex.

An Fe(III)-carbonato six-coordinate picket fence porphyrin complex with the formula [K(2,2,2-crypt)][Fe(TpivPP)(CO)]·CHCl·3HO () has been synthesized and characterized by UV-Vis and FT-IR spectra. The structure of (carbonato)(α,α,α,α-tetrakis(-pivalamidophenyl)porphinato)ferrate(III) was also established by XRD. The iron atom is hexa-coordinated by the four nitrogen atoms of the pyrrol rings and the two oxygen atoms of the CO group.

Theoretical modeling of electronic absorption spectra of ionized species of β-diketones.

Context: Direct DFT evaluation of negatively charged or highly π-delocalized systems is intrinsically problematic. Single ionized (anionic) forms of β-diketones combine both these issues. In this article, we have summarized and analyzed the experimental and theoretical spectral dataset for anionic forms of different substituted perfluorinated β-diketones that were obtained by our team during the past few years.

Revision and Analysis of the Formation Constants of Rare Earth Diketonates.

Over the course of the past several decades, spectroscopic surveys have unveiled the intricate nature of the aqueous chelation of Rare Earth Metals. Herein, we have collected a large data set about the interaction between 16 metal ions (Sc, Y, La, Ce, Pr, Nd, Sm, Eu, Gd, Tb, Dy, Ho, Er, Tm, Yb, and Lu) and perfluorinated nonsymmetric β-diketones, which contain chalcogen-bearing heterocyclic rings or aromatic moiety. The role and influence of the side ions on the chelation processes have been re-estimated to obtain revised stability constants.

Sulfation of Birch Wood Microcrystalline Cellulose with Sulfamic Acid Using Ion-Exchange Resins as Catalysts.

Cellulose sulfates are important biologically active substances with a wide range of useful properties. The development of new methods for the production of cellulose sulfates is an urgent task. In this work, we investigated ion-exchange resins as catalysts for the sulfation of cellulose with sulfamic acid.

Sulfation of Wheat Straw Soda Lignin with Sulfamic Acid over Solid Catalysts.

Soda lignin is a by-product of the soda process for producing cellulose from grassy raw materials. Since a method for the industrial processing of lignin of this type is still lacking, several research teams have been working on solving this problem. We first propose a modification of soda lignin with sulfamic acid over solid catalysts.

TD-DFT assessment of UV-vis spectra palladium and platinum complexes with thiols and disulfides.

Time-dependent density functional theory (TD-DFT) and spectrophotometric methods were used for speciation analysis in systems disulfides (cystine, cystamine, homocystine, 3,3-dithiodipropionic acid) - [PdCl] or [PtCl]. We use the M06-2X and CAM-B3LYP density functionals with Def2-SVP basis set to reproduce the experimental UV-vis spectra; the polarized continuum solvation model (PCM) was fitted to take into account solvation effects of the medium (water). Used methods have shown the good agrees with the experiment - theoretical values of transition energies differ from real parameters within ±0.

Interaction of Rare-Earth Metals and Some Perfluorinated β-Diketones.

In this work, we demonstrate the fundamental relationships between stability constants and periodic, acid-base, and structural parameters for complexes of some 1,3-diketones. The four analogues of hexafluoroacetylacetone-2-thenoyltrifluoroacetone, 2-furoyltrifluoroacetone, benzoyltrifluoroacetone, and 2-naphthyltrifluoroacetone-have been studied as chelating ligands for 16 rare-earth metals (Sc, Y, La, Ce, Pr, Nd, Sm, Eu, Gd, Tb, Dy, Ho, Er, Tm, Yb, and Lu) in aqueous solutions. Systems have been investigated spectrophotometrically using a multiwave nonlinear least-squares regression algorithm for data processing.

[A comparative evaluation of the efficacy of the clinical use of SKN-4M-, SKT-6A- and polifepan-type sorbents in treating patients with chronic kidney failure (clinical and experimental studies)].

Enterosorbents were tried clinically in 90 patients with chronic renal failure and in vitro (immersion into gastric juice, enteral and colon content). Advantages of granulated carbone sorbents over polyphepan, lignin derivative, were evident.

[Changes in the large intestine in patients with chronic kidney failure].

Clinical and bacteriological examinations performed in 138 patients with chronic renal failure (CRF) have found in the majority of late-stage examinees endogenic chronic colitis (ECC). This should be taken into consideration when prescribing repeat enteroclysis for correction of some uremia symptoms. Etiologically, ECC may be due to intestinal dysbacteriosis.

[The role of stomach pathology as a risk factor in ulcer formation at different times of chronic dialysis treatment].

Two groups of patients with chronic renal failure (CRF) underwent chronic hemodialysis within 1976-1990. Acute ulcerogenic situation in them arose during month 1-3 of the treatment. Formation of ulcers was closely related to the acid-peptic factor.

[A trial of the clinical use of intestinal dialysis in chronic kidney failure].

The authors analyze pilot experience with clinical introduction of intestinal dialysis in 7 uremic patients. Repeated sessions of the dialysis relieved some symptoms of uremic intoxication. The method may be of value in contraindications to chronic hemodialysis for chronic renal failure.

[The effect of enterosorbents on stomach functional activity and the parameters of nitrogen metabolism in patients with nephrogenous gastropathies].

The therapeutic efficacy of the continuous 6-week application of the enterosorbents CKH-4M and CKT-6A was traced in 64 patients with chronic renal diseases and different stages of chronic renal failure (CRF). The treatment was established to be most effective in the early stages of CRF. The morphologically verified manifest nephrogenic gastropathy was often associated with lack of the therapeutic effect and deterioration of the clinico-laboratory characteristics.

[Various current clinical aspects of the problem of "the kidney and the stomach"].

Analysis of specific features of stomach pathology in 174 patients with various clinical manifestations of chronic glomerulonephritis has demonstrated peculiar nephrogenous gastropathy in these patients. Clinical assessment of the secretion-excretion relationship was carried out in patients with intact renal function and chronic renal insufficiency of various degree of manifestation.

[Current clinical evaluation of indicators of the secretory and excretory function of the stomach in patients with chronic glomerulonephritis].

Gastric secretory and excretory parameters and serum gastrin levels were assessed in 66 patients with chronic glomerulonephritis (CGN) with intact renal activity and those with chronic renal failure (CRF) of varying severity. Gastrin has been shown to participate in acidogenesis control, while proteolytic activity of the gastric content was not dependent on the blood level of this digestive hormone. The administration of pentagastrin stimulated active gastric juice excretion of nitrite residue that can be used for curative purposes.

[Status of the internal organs in nephrotic syndrome].

As a result of clinical and experimental observations the authors have established that even at the early stages of the nephrotic syndrome there occur myocardial lesions determined by concomitant impairment of microcirculation and metabolism leading to the development of nephrotic cardiomyopathy. The appearance of the nephrotic syndrome may be accompanied by the development of hydrothorax and more seldom, primarily in acute glomerulonephritis, by nephrogenous edema of the lungs. The nephrotic syndrome does not exert any material effect on the changes in external respiratory function, common to glomerulonephritis.

[Clinico-pathogenetic aspects of uremic (nephrogenic) gastropathy].

The authors analyzed 380 autopsies for chronic glomerulo- and pyelonephritis and studied the clinical and functional features of gastric pathology in 240 patients with the same disease entities. The hypotheses are suggested about a 3-stage successive formation of uremic gastropathy. The importance of hypergastrinemia as one of the pathogenetic factors, as a vicarious organ as regards nitrogenous products at early stages of chronic renal insufficiency is discussed.

[Mucosal changes in the stomach of rats in the early stages of chronic renal failure].

In a series of chronic experiments on 30 rats subjected to nephrectomy, use was made of the present-day morphological and quantitative histochemical techniques to study the activity of oxidation-reduction enzymes, hydrolases and PAS-reaction in cellular elements of the mucous membrane of the fundal and antral parts of the stomach. It was found that in the early stages of experimental renal insufficiency, all the main cells of the glands manifested marked hyperplasia. These alterations seem likely to be adaptive in nature and are caused by the stimulatory action of the increased amounts of nitrous residue in the gastric lumen of such animals.
