Association between Manchester Triage System discriminators and nursing diagnoses.

Objective: To analyze the association between Manchester Triage System flowchart discriminators and nursing diagnoses in adult patients classified as clinical priority I (emergency) and II (very urgent).

Method: Cross-sectional study conducted in an emergency department in southern Brazil between April and August 2014. The sample included 219 patients.

Case studies and role play: learning strategies in nursing.

Objective:: to report professors' experience in a public university of Southern region of Brazil using case studies and role play as learning strategies for nursing care of hospitalized adults.

Method:: learning experience report from the Nursing Care of Adults I class of nursing undergraduate course.

Results: the development of case studies and role play considered health care needs from epidemiological profile of chronic noncommunicable diseases morbidity and mortality, nursing as an assisting method, and social aspects of hospitalized individuals.

[The nurse's perspective on humanized care in a post-anesthesic care unit].

Whenever patients and their families are faced to the possibility of undergoing surgery they experience feelings of hope for a positive result, as well as anxiety and distrust caused by fear of the unknown. When the patient is transferred to the Recovery Room, this time represents for the family a waiting time for information to brighten up its distress and anxiety. The objective of this study is getting to know the perceptions of nurses in a Recovery Room in relation to the information supplied to the family as a form of humanized care.
