This research investigates the complex temperature distribution and fatigue behavior of single film-cooling holes manufactured by lasers with different pulse widths in a real flow field. The aerodynamic and heat transfer characteristics of film-cooling holes manufactured using lasers with different pulse widths were analyzed through laser drilling experiments, conjugate heat transfer simulations, and crystal plasticity finite element methods. The study investigated the relationship between changes in the geometric accuracy of the film-cooling holes and the corresponding flow and temperature fields during the film-cooling process.

Some systems can even offer augmented fluoroscopy and puncture guidance. The use of CBCT for interventional pulmonary procedures has grown significantly in recent years, and numerous clinical studies have confirmed the technology's efficacy and safety in the diagnosis, localization, and treatment of pulmonary nodules.

The therapeutic efficacy and underlying mechanisms of usenamine A in lung adenocarcinoma (LUAD) remain poorly understood. We aimed to explore the therapeutic effects and molecular mechanisms through which usenamine A inhibits LUAD tumorigenesis.

Materials And Methods: Four deep learning models were trained using CT images of sub-centimeter pulmonary nodules from West China Hospital, internally tested, and externally validated on three cohorts. The four models respectively learned 3D deep features from the baseline whole lung region, baseline image patch where the nodule located, baseline nodule box, and baseline plus follow-up nodule boxes.
Background: Pulmonary artery (PA) aneurysms are usually diagnosed radiographically and present as small or large lesions resembling inflammation or a neoplasm on chest radiography. It has rarely been reported as an endobronchial mass.
Case Summary: We report the case of a 64-year-old man who presented with recurrent hemoptysis.
Lung adenocarcinoma (LUAD) is the main cause of death globally. The present study investigated the prognostic value and functional verification of nucleophosmin (NPM1) in LUAD. LUAD and normal samples from The Cancer Genome Atlas were analyzed to identify whether NPM1 is associated with LUAD prognosis.

The efficacy of ALK-tyrosine kinase inhibitor (ALK-TKI) in EML4-ALK has been extensively studied, whereas little evidence is available on its efficacy in rare ALK fusions. Here, we report the performance of crizotinib in a 50-year-old male lung adenocarcinoma patient with a novel rare SEC31A-ALK fusion.

Methods: We re-analyzed the asthma transcriptional profiles of the dataset of GSE45111.
Background: Asthma is a heterogeneous disease that can be divided into four inflammatory phenotypes: eosinophilic asthma (EA), neutrophilic asthma (NA), mixed granulocytic asthma (MGA), and paucigranulocytic asthma (PGA). While research has mainly focused on EA and NA, the understanding of PGA is limited. In this study, we aimed to identify underlying mechanisms and hub genes of PGA.

By studying 7858 lung cancer samples using targeted-gene sequencing, we investigated genomic differences and clinical on-treatment time (OTT) to different therapies between young (≤ 45 years) and old (> 45 years) patients. The age-dependent trend test for genomic alterations in all patients revealed steady increases in tumor mutation burden and alterations in a number of genes with age, including KRAS, MET, CDKN2A, PIK3CA and MDM2, while the frequencies of ALK, ROS1 and RET fusions and ERBB2 mutations were decreasing.

Objectives: We sought to develop a new clinical decision-making rule based on a positive D-dimer result to predict the probability of pulmonary embolism and to guide clinicians in making decisions regarding the need for computed tomographic pulmonary angiography.
Methods: We conducted a prospective, multicenter study in three hospitals in China.

It is demonstrated that SnS and SnSe nanoribbons with armchair edges (A-SnSNRs and A-SnSeNRs) are semiconductors, independent of the width of the ribbon. Their bandgaps have an indirect-to-direct transition, which varies with the ribbon width.
