Introduction: Planting without mulching can eliminate the residual film pollution caused by the long-term use of plastic film covers, but it will increase soil moisture evaporation and heat loss and severely reduce water use efficiency and cotton productivity in cotton ( L.) fields in arid regions. It is unclear whether the advantages of subsurface drip irrigation and nighttime irrigation can be leveraged to reduce the amount of irrigation applied in fields, improve the soil and leaf hydrothermal environments, and increase the synchronicity of yield and water use efficiency (WUE).

To address this issue in cotton agroecosystems, there is a need to develop sustainable crop nutrient management strategies to achieve high crop yields. We hypothesized that organic liquid fertilizer (OF) combined with reduced chemical fertilizer (CF) would enhance cotton yield by improving leaf functioning and soil properties.

Introduction: Intracerebral hemorrhage (ICH) is known to trigger neuronal ferroptosis while forkhead box O3 (FOXO3) is implicated in ICH. This study aimed to determine the specific effect of FOXO3 on neuronal ferroptosis after ICH.
Methods: The ICH mouse model was established through the injection of bacterial collagenase type IV and the cell model was established in Hemin-induced HT-22 cells.
Background And Purpose: Following mechanical thrombectomy (MT), patients with large artery occlusive acute ischemic stroke (LAO-AIS) often have cerebral herniation due to its complications, resulting in poor prognosis. Decompressive craniectomy (DC) can markedly improve patient prognosis. This study aimed to verify the predictive value of clinical parameters such as the systemic immune-inflammatory index (SII) for DC in patients with LAO-AIS after MT.

Formation of cuticular layer with increased content of wax and cutin on leaf surfaces is closely related to drought tolerance. Identification of drought tolerance associated wax components and cutin monomers and the genes responsible for their biosynthesis is essential for understanding the physiological and genetic mechanisms underlying drought tolerance and improving crop drought resistance.

To overcome these issues, we hypothesized that an appropriate combination of liquid organic fertilizer and chemical fertilizer (CF) would effectively reduce the input of CF without sacrificing the quality and yield of cotton. A 2-year field experiment explores the effects of three fertilization treatments on the growth, biomass accumulation, and yield of cotton.

In order to explore the physiological responses of root system of different drought-resistant cotton varieties to drought and their relationships with biomass, we examined the effects of drought stress on root vigor, antioxidant enzyme activities and anatomic structure (duct diameter, number) and biomass of different drought-tolerant varieties, including the drought-inolerant variety 'Xinluzao 17' (L17) and the drought-tolerant variety 'Xinluzao 22' (L22). Both varieties were grown under soil column cultivation conditions, with conventional irrigation (CK), mild drought (W) and moderate drought (W) treatments. The results showed that drought stress caused significant reductions in soluble protein (SP) content, root vigor (RV), the number of cork layers, the number of rhizome ducts, the diameter of the ducts in both varieties.

Proinflammatory cytokines such as tumor necrosis factor (TNF)‑α and interleukin (IL)‑6 are generated during AP, and act synergistically to promote PE and multisystem failure. Caerulein‑induced AP provides a convenient model to explore the role of proinflammatory cytokines in PE.

Dysregulation of miRNAs may play tumor-suppressing or oncogenic roles in the initiation and progression of GBM, and may be involved in the regulation of multiple pathological behaviors. Therefore, identifying the clinical value and functional role of GBM-related miRNAs may provide effective therapeutic targets for the treatment of patients with this fatal malignancy.

Among these, water scarcity is a major limitation to crop productivity. Water stress can severely reduce crop yield and both the severity and duration of the stress are critical.

The objectives of this experiment were (i) to determine the effect of water supply on the photosynthetic capacity of leaves, bracts, capsule walls, and stalks of cotton at different growth stages and (ii) to determine the contributions of these nonleaf organs to whole plant photosynthesis. Water deficit reduced the total surface area per plant but increased the proportion of nonleaf to total plant surface area. Net photosynthetic rates of leaves declined rapidly beginning 25 days after anthesis.
