Since 1970 acyclovir (ACV) has been the reference drug in treating herpes simplex virus (HSV) infections. However, resistant herpes simplex virus type 1 (HSV-1) strains have emerged, narrowing the treatment efficacy. The antiviral activity of classical Na, K ATPase enzyme (NKA) inhibitors linked the viral replication to the NKA's activity.

The aim of the present study was to design and validate an instrument to assess the extent to which healthcare services provided by PEMEX (Petróleos Mexicanos) offer person-centered care according to user perceptions.
Methods: The first phase comprised the development of 57 items based on the analysis of responses from an open-ended questionnaire administered to 30 users of Pemex healthcare services.
Purpose: This work aims to assess standard evaluation practices used by the research community for evaluating medical imaging classifiers, with a specific focus on the implications of class imbalance. The analysis is performed on chest X-rays as a case study and encompasses a comprehensive model performance definition, considering both discriminative capabilities and model calibration.
Materials And Methods: We conduct a concise literature review to examine prevailing scientific practices used when evaluating X-ray classifiers.
Due to substantial differences between studies, the understanding of avian taste perception remains incomplete. Also, studies on chicken taste preferences have mainly focused on measuring consumption differences, neglecting consumption behaviour patterns. This study investigated how age, the compound delivery matrix, and the number of birds per pen affect broiler chicken preferences and consumption behaviour, and established their preference values for four taste compounds.

For instance, the current upward trend in global temperatures might lead to specific predictions about the extent to which global temperatures will rise in the future, and these predictions might be used to inform judgments about the urgency with which climate change must be addressed. However, those predictions often need to be revised to incorporate the effects of unexpected events that might accelerate a trend (i.

The adequate management of patients' genomic information is essential for any health institution pursuing the Precision Medicine model. Here we approach a bioinformatic architecture that allows the Institution to store its whole genetic test data in a scalable database, and also the integration of that genetic data with the Electronic Health Record through a Clinical Decision Support System. The system complements patient care by suggesting referral to genetic counseling for patients who are potentially at risk of hereditary breast/ovarian cancer, and allowing for proper follow-up of patients with pathogenic variants in BRCA1 or BRCA2 genes.

The system was trained with an acoustic base of spontaneous speech that has a domain language model and a supervised phonetic dictionary. Its performance was compared with two systems: a) NeMo End-to-End Conformers in Spanish and b) Google API ASR (Automatic Speech Recognition) Cloud.

The aim of this paper was to report patient valuation of usability with our telemedicine system and to explore the effect of pandemic in its behavior. We conducted a cross-sectional study based on the prospective recollection of the results of the Spanish abbreviated version of the Telehealth Usability Questionnaire (TUQ), from October 2019 to July 2020. We observed an inflection point of growth of answers during the pandemic era and a trend of decrease in usability valuations coinciding with the massive and forced implementation of the system after lockdown.

The acquisition, transfer, and storage of dermatology images has become an important issue to resolve. We aimed to describe our experience in integrating dermoscopic images into PACS using DICOM as a guide for the health informatics and dermatology community.

Drug information tools help avoid medication errors, a common cause of avoidable harm in health care systems. We sought to describe the design, development process and architecture of an electronic drug information tool, as well as its overall use by health professionals. We developed a tool that can be accessed by all health professionals in a tertiary level university hospital.

Waiting time for chemotherapy infusion is a fundamental factor to measure quality of care. It has been shown that a prolonged waiting time is related to a higher incidence of anticipatory nausea and poor patient adherence to scheduled appointments and recommended oncology treatment programs. Some chemotherapy regimens can be prepared hours ahead-of-time, due to long stability.

Creating notes in the EHR is one of the most problematic aspects for health professionals. The main challenges are the time spent on this task and the quality of the records. Automatic speech recognition technologies aim to facilitate clinical documentation for users, optimizing their workflow.

A total of 355 healthcare professionals completed the Spanish Burnout Inventory, the Utrecht Work Engagement Scale, the Job Satisfaction Scale, and the Psychological Well-Being Scale for Adults. Latent profile analysis identified four profiles: (1) burnout with high indolence (BwHIn); (2) burnout with low indolence (BwLIn); (3) high engagement, low burnout (HeLb); and (4) in the process of burning out (IPB).

The original version of the PMHQ includes 39 items organized into 6 factors, although there are reports that indicate a reduced structure of between 1 and 4 factors. The aim of this study was to assess the psychometric properties of the PMHQ with 1, 4 and 6 factors.

However, the generation of these datasets confined to certain countries as well as the lack of demographic information accompanying the images, prevents having a real knowledge of in which populations these models could be used. Consequently, this hinders the translation of the models to the clinical setting.

Objective: To identify profiles that describe the relationship between empathy, anxiety and psychological well-being in Mexican medical students.
Purpose: Colorectal cancer is usually accompanied by liver metastases. The prediction of patient evolution is essential for the choice of the appropriate therapy. The aim of this study is to develop and evaluate machine learning models to predict KRAS gene mutations and 2-year disease-specific mortality from medical images.
