The capacity of human interventions to regulate PM concentration has substantially improved in China.

The rapid urbanization in China has brought about serious air pollution problems, which are likely to persist for a considerable period as the urbanization process continues. In urban areas, the spatial distribution of air pollutants represented by PM has been proved mainly affected by emission, urban landscape pattern (short as ULP), as well as meteorological conditions. However, the contributions of these factors can seriously vary with different periods of urban development.

The influential factors of depression among caregivers of children with Cleft Lip and/or Palate: a path analysis based on diathesis-stress theoretical model.

Background: Depression is the most common psychological phenomenon among caregivers of children with Cleft Lip and/or Palate and affects the quality of life, treatment satisfaction, children's self-esteem and parent-child relationship. However, Existing studies have limited explanations for the mechanisms that lead to depression in caregivers of children with Cleft Lip and/or Palate. The present study aimed to identify factors influencing depression among caregivers of children with Cleft Lip and/or Palate and to provide a reference point and new ideas for future research.

The influential factors of anxiety among caregivers of children with CL/P: a path analysis based on diathesis-stress theoretical model.

Background: This study aims to validate a hypothesized model of the relationships between optimism, resilience, coping, parenting stress, perceived social support, and anxiety, as well as their influencing factors and consequences among caregivers of children diagnosed with cleft lip and/or palate (CL/P).

Methods: A hypothesized model was proposed based on diathesis-stress theoretical model and existing literature. A convenience sample of two CL/P treatment centers in China was collected between April 2019 and July 2020.

Interventions to address parenting stress among caregivers of children with chronic diseases: An umbrella review.

Background: Caregivers of children with chronic diseases suffer from great parenting pressure, which directly affects the treatment and rehabilitation of children, reduces the quality of life of caregivers and damages family functioning. Existing reviews have not systematically summarized and evaluated interventions for parenting stress in caregivers of children with chronic diseases.

Data Sources: Embase, PubMed, Web of Science, OVID, CNKI, CBM, Wan Fang and Cochrane Library were searched for eligible reviews in November 2021 and October 2022.

Reliability and validity of the Child Perception Questionnaire 8 ~ 10 (CPQ) in China: an instrument for measuring oral health-related quality of life among 8-10-year-old children.

Objectives: Children aged 8-10 are in a critical stage of growth and development, facing complex and specific oral health problems. In China, there is no specific assessment questionnaire for this age group. The Child Perception Questionnare 8 ~ 10 (CPQ) has been widely used in many countries, with good reliability and validity.

Quantitative Evidence of the effect of Baduanjin exercise on quality of life and cardiac function in adults with chronic heart failure.

Background: This study aimed to assess the effects of Baduanjin exercise on the quality of life (QoL), cardiac function, and maximal oxygen consumption (VOmax) in patients with chronic heart failure (CHF).

Methods: A systematic search of relevant literature published from inception until February 2023 was performed in the Scopus, PubMed, MEDLINE, CINAHL, Cochrane Library, SPORTDiscus, and China National Knowledge Infrastructure databases. We included randomized controlled trials (RCTs) that examined the effects of Baduanjin exercise on QoL (Minnesota Living with Heart Failure Questionnaire [MLHFQ]), cardiac function (N-terminal B-type natriuretic peptide [NT-Pro BNP] and left ventricular ejection fraction [LVEF]), and VOmax in patients with CHF.

Stressors in university life and anxiety symptoms among international students: a sequential mediation model.

Background: Anxiety is a common mental health problem among university students, and identification of its risk or associated factors and revelation of the underlying mechanism will be useful for making proper intervention strategies. The aim of our study is to test the sequential mediation of self-efficacy and perceived stress in the association between stressors in university life and anxiety symptoms.

Methods: A cross-sectional study design was adopted and a sample of 512 international students from a medical university of China completed the survey with measurements of stressors in university life, self-efficacy, perceived stress and anxiety symptoms.

Efficacy and Safety of Introduction Timolol Maleate by Manometer Microneedles among Infantile Hemangioma: A Retrospective Study in China.

Objective:  The objective of the study was to compare the effective rate, cure rate, adverse reaction rate, and effective time of three methods in the treatment of infantile hemangioma, hoping to provide reference for improving the clinical therapeutic effect.

Methods:  This is a retrospective study of 307 infantile hemangioma patients admitted to the Department of Oral and Maxillofacial Surgery, School of Stomatology, China Medical University, from January 2014 to October 2021. The patients were divided into three groups.

Comorbid anxiety and depressive symptoms and the related factors among international medical students in China during COVID-19 pandemic: a cross-sectional study.

Background: The two most prevalent mental health conditions are anxiety and depression and they often coexist (comorbidity) in an individual aggravating the person's psychological or medical conditions. College students suffered from anxiety and depressive symptoms during the COVID-19 pandemic, according to numerous studies. The lack of information on the comorbidity of anxiety and depression (CAD) among international medical students, however, makes it difficult to develop effective policies or strategies to support these students.

Performance characteristics of F-fluorodeoxyglucose in non-infected hip replacement.

Purpose: The aim of this study was to retrospectively analyze 18F-fluorodeoxyglucose (F-FDG) positron emission tomography (PET)/ computed tomography (CT) images of non-infected hip arthroplasty patients and summarize findings that may be useful for clinical practice.

Methods: F-FDG PET/CT images of non-infected hip arthroplasty patients were collected from September 2009 to August 2021. The region of interest was independently delineated by two physicians and maximum standardized uptake values (SUV) were recorded and compared.

Interventions and strategies to improve social support for caregivers of children with chronic diseases: An umbrella review.

Background: Social support is an important approach to improve the psychosocial health status and promote positive coping for caregivers of children with chronic diseases. Such an approach can reduce parenting stress, help resolve parenting difficulties through the use of various social support relationships.

Methods: We performed an umbrella review methodology using the method of examination, analysis and synthesis of systematic reviews.

Reliability and validity of the 15-item Chronic Oral Mucosal Disease Questionnaire in China: A short-form instrument to measure quality of life.

Background: Chronic oral mucosal diseases have been a common problem, which affected individuals' health and social functions seriously. Although there has been a rigorous Chinese version of the Chronic Mucosal Diseases Questionnaire (COMDQ-26) to measure the quality of life of patients with chronic oral mucosal diseases, 26 items were so redundant to be a burden for patients. It was necessary to make a brief, practical, and easy-to-use tool in China.

Masticatory performance in patients undergoing free fibula flap for mandible reconstruction.

Background: To explore the masticatory performance in patients undergoing an osteo(cutaneous) free fibula (OFF) flap for mandible reconstruction by a prospective design.

Methods: A total of 56 patients who had undergone OFF flap reconstructions for mandibular reconstruction secondary to malignant (squamous cell carcinoma) or benign (ameloblastoma) tumor resection were prospectively enrolled. They were asked to complete the masticatory performance test by the weigh method and the chew domain of the University of Washington quality of life questionnaire (version 4) preoperatively and at 3, 6, and 12 months postoperatively.

Preparation, structural characterization and antioxidant activity of water-soluble polysaccharides and purified fractions from blackened jujube by an activity-oriented approach.

This study aimed to investigate the structural features and antioxidant activity in vitro of crude blackened jujube polysaccharides (BJPs) and five purified polysaccharides based on the activity-oriented approach. The crude BJPs exhibited dose-dependent radical scavenging activity and total reducing capacity, and provided excellent protective effects against HO-damaged HUVECs via up-regulating mitochondrial membrane potential and down-regulating intracellular reactive oxygen species. Resilience has become a hot spot in the field of positive psychology to study life-change events. However, there were little information on resilience among the fathers and mothers of patients with cleft lip and/or palate respectively. The present study aimed to explore and compare the level and potential influential factors associated with resilience among fathers/mothers of patients with cleft lip and/or palate in China.

Relationships Between Cross-Cultural Adaption, Perceived Stress and Psychological Health Among International Undergraduate Students From a Medical University During the COVID-19 Pandemic: A Moderated Mediation Model.

International university students may be at greater risk for developing psychological problems due to the unique stressors in them, particularly during the COVID-19 pandemic. The purpose of present study is to propose and test a moderated mediation model that would illuminate the underlying relationships of cross-cultural adaption, perceived stress and psychological health as well as the moderating effect of optimism and resilience among international medical undergraduates in China during the COVID-19 pandemic. The study was conducted via a web-based survey in November 2020.

Prevalence and Predictors of Anxiety and Depressive Symptoms Among International Medical Students in China During COVID-19 Pandemic.

The rapid spread of Coronavirus Disease-19 (COVID-19) infection has been the most important public health crisis across the globe since the end of 2019. Anxiety and depression are the most common mental health problems among people during the pandemic, and many studies have reported anxiety and depressive symptoms in college students. However, information on the mental health status of international medical students during this critical period of time has been scarce, which hinders the efforts in making proper policy or strategies to help these students.

Gefitinib Combined with Cetuximab for the Treatment of Lung Adenocarcinoma Harboring the EGFR-Intergenic Region (SEC61G) Fusion and EGFR Amplification.

EGFR fusions are rare genomic events in non-small cell lung cancer (NSCLC), and a total of nine types have been previously reported in lung adenocarcinoma: EGFR-RAD51, EGFR-PURB, EGFR-ANXA2, EGFR-ZNF713, EGFR-YAP1, USP42-EGFR, EGFR-SEPTIN14, EGFR-TNS3, and EGFR-ZCCHC6. EGFR fusion mutations combined with EGFR amplification are even rarer in NSCLC. The EGFR-intergenic region (IGR) fusion mutation is unreported, and thus, there are no studies targeting this fusion together with EGFR amplification in lung adenocarcinoma.

Development of a prediction model for the risk of recurrent laryngeal nerve lymph node metastasis in thoracolaparoscopic esophagectomy with cervical anastomosis.

Background: There are no effective preoperative diagnostic measures to predict the probability of left and right recurrent laryngeal nerve (RLN) lymph node (LN) metastasis using preoperative clinical data in patients undergoing thoracolaparoscopic esophagectomy with cervical anastomosis.

Methods: We retrospectively reviewed the clinical data of 1,660 consecutive patients with thoracic esophageal cancer who underwent esophagectomy with cervical anastomosis at the Department of Thoracic Surgery at the First Affiliated Hospital of Zhengzhou University between January 2015 and December 2020.

Results: A total of 299 and 343 patients who underwent left (Cohort 1) and right (Cohort 2) RLN LN dissection were included in the final analyses.

The purpose of this study was to determine whether the number of lymph nodes dissected predicts prognosis in surgically treated elderly patients with pN0 thoracic esophageal cancer. We searched the Surveillance, Epidemiology, and End Results database and identified the records of younger (<75 years) and older (≥75 years) patients with pN0 thoracic esophageal cancer between 1998 and 2015. The patient characteristics, tumor data, and postoperative variables were analyzed in this study.

Prevalence and predictors of anxiety and depressive symptoms among patients diagnosed with oral cancer in China: a cross-sectional study.

Background: Anxiety and depression are common mental health problems among patients with cancer. While many psychological variables have been proven to influence anxiety and depressive symptoms, the variables are not mutually exclusive and their integrated effects on patients with oral cancer are yet unknown. The present study aims to explore the prevalence of anxiety and depressive symptoms among patients with oral cancer, to find out key potentially predictive factors associated with anxiety and depressive symptoms.
