Conformational changes of tyrosinase caused by pentagalloylglucose binding: Implications for inhibitory effect and underlying mechanism.

Tyrosinase is a critical enzyme related to various pigmentation disorders and browning of fruits and vegetables. In this study, a novel inhibitor pentagalloylglucose (PGG) against tyrosinase was prepared from tannic acid with the chemical structure elucidated using HPLC, ESI-MS, H- and C NMR. Its inhibitory effect and the underlying mechanism on tyrosinase were explored by enzyme kinetics, UV-scanning, copper-ion chelation, fluorescence, circular dichroism, fourier transform infrared spectroscopy and molecular docking simulation.

Objective: To identify quantitative CT features for distinguishing well-differentiated pancreatic neuroendocrine tumors (PNETs) from poorly differentiated pancreatic neuroendocrine carcinomas (PNECs).

Materials And Methods: Seventeen patients with PNECs and 131 patients with PNETs confirmed by biopsy or surgery were retrospectively included. General demographic (sex, age) and CT quantitative parameters (arterial/portal absolute enhancement, arterial/portal relative enhancement ratio, arterial/portal enhancement ratio) were collected.

Rhabdomyolysis happened after the start of dabigatran etexilate treatment: A case report.

There are few reports of rhabdomyolysis caused by anticoagulants, and it is extremely rare for it to be caused by dabigatran etexilate. An 86-year-old female experienced sudden muscle weakness and pain, a significant increase in Creatine kinase, and renal impairment after oral administration of dabigatran etexilate for 3 weeks. The enhanced thigh MRI showed abnormal signal in multiple thigh muscle groups, indicating that the lesions should be considered inflammatory diseases.

Methods: Electronic databases, including Cochrane Library, PubMed, EMBASE, Web of Science, CNKI, SinoMed, Wanfang, and VIP, were searched to identify randomized controlled trials and cohort studies that reported details of WAA as an additional therapy for postoperative multiple analgesia in orthopedic surgery before October 1, 2021. Analyzed outcomes included time points of the visual analog scale, use of patient-controlled intravenous analgesia (PCIA), and postoperative adverse events.

Chemical reprogramming of human somatic cells to pluripotent stem cells.

Cellular reprogramming can manipulate the identity of cells to generate the desired cell types. The use of cell intrinsic components, including oocyte cytoplasm and transcription factors, can enforce somatic cell reprogramming to pluripotent stem cells. By contrast, chemical stimulation by exposure to small molecules offers an alternative approach that can manipulate cell fate in a simple and highly controllable manner.

Initial experience with repositionable J-Valve for severe aortic regurgitation: a single-center experience.

Background: This study aimed to evaluate the clinical outcomes of treating high-risk patients presenting with severe aortic regurgitation (AR) or aortic stenosis (AS) using transcatheter aortic valve replacement (TAVR).

Methods: This retrospective study included 290 consecutive patients with symptomatic severe aortic regurgitation or aortic stenosis. All patients who underwent TAVR with J-Valve (Med Tech College LLC, Fort Wayne, IN, USA) at our institution between March 2014 and July 2019.
