Introduction: Cystic glioblastoma is a well-recognised clinical entity but the characteristics and role of these cystic components in determining clinical outcome remains poorly understood.
Research Question: To determine whether (1) there is a prognostic significance to a glioblastoma having a cystic component and (2) whether the presence of cyst, and its prognosis relative to non-cystic glioblastoma, relates to patient demographics and other tumour characteristics.
Material & Methods: A systematic review and meta-analysis was conducted in accordance to PRISMA guidelines.
