Surface enhanced fluorescence (SEF) based on noble metal nanoparticles is an effective means to achieve high sensitivity in fluorescence detection. Currently, the physical mechanism behind enhanced fluorescence is not fully understood. This paper measures the fluorescence signals of Dihydroporphyrin f methyl ether (CPD4) under both single-photon and two-photon excitation based on submicrometer silver particles with rough morphologies, achieving enhancement factors of 34 and 45 times, respectively.
View Article and Find Full Text PDFAims: MicroRNA-126 (miR-126), one of the most abundant microRNAs in platelets, is involved in the regulation of platelet activity and the circulating miR-126 is reduced during antiplatelet therapy. However, whether intraplatelet miR-126 plays a role in thrombosis and platelet inhibition remains unclear.
Methods And Results: Here, using tissue-specific knockout mice, we reported that the deficiency of miR-126 in platelets and vascular endothelial cells significantly prevented thrombosis and prolonged bleeding time.
is a commercially cultivated high-temperature mushroom. Investigating the molecular mechanism of fruiting body development will help us to better understand the regulation of substrates and energy in this process. However, little information has been reported on the development and nutrients of the fruiting body.

However, empirical and trial-and-error methods commonly used to select suitable NDES are unconvincing and time-consuming. Conductor-like screening model for realistic solvation (COSMO-RS) is helpful for the priori design of NDES by predicting the solubility of biomolecules.

Based on six offspring with different mitochondrial (M) and parental nuclear (N) genotypes, the multi-stage morphological characteristics and nuclear transcriptomes of Lentinula edodes were compared to investigate morphogenesis mechanisms during cultivation, the key reason for cultivar resistance to genotype changes, and regulation related to biparental role changes. Six offspring had specific transcriptomic data and morphological characteristics that were mainly regulated by the two parental nuclei, followed by the cytoplasm, at different growth stages. Importing a wild N genotype easily leads to failure or instability of fruiting; however, importing wild M genotypes may improve cultivars.

An early screening method of the fruiting ability could make the breeding work more efficient. In this paper, a rapid and high-throughput laccase activity detection method based on agar diffusion principle was developed.

RBC-platelet hybrid membrane-coated nanoparticles ([RBC-P]NPs), which biologically mimic platelets in vivo, display evidence of anti-atherosclerotic activity. The efficacy of a targeted RBC-platelet hybrid membrane-coated nanoparticles ([RBC-P]NP)-based approach was investigated as a primary preventive measure against atherosclerosis.

Notably, Hmgb1 interacts with multiple toll-like receptors (TLRs) and promotes TLR4-mediated proinflammatory myeloid cell activation. Therefore, TLR-associated mechanism(s) within monocytes may play a role in Hmgb1-driven poststroke atheroprogression.

Di-(2-ethylhexyl) phthalate (DEHP) is among the most widely used plasticizers in plastic production, which has been detected in various environments. However, DEHP safety remains poorly known. Using zebrafish models, the effects of DEHP on the angiogenesis and hematopoiesis, and the underlying mechanism, were studied.

This protocol was performed under simple and mild conditions without organic solvent, additives or ligands. By switching on/off a hydroxyl protecting group of oximes, the selective N-O/O-H cleavage could be triggered, delivering a series of isoquinolines and isoquinoline -oxides, respectively, in moderate to high yields with good functional group tolerance and high atom economy.

However, the effect of biochar on typical environmental processes in anaerobic soil environment has been insufficiently discussed. By regulating the electron donors with sodium acetate or pyruvate, the effects and underpinning chemical-microbiological coupling mechanisms of biochar under anaerobic conditions were disclosed.

Background: The compound Danshen Dripping Pill (CDDP), which is a mixture of extracts from Radix Salviae and Panax notoginseng, is a patented traditional Chinese medicine that is widely used in multiple countries for relieving coronary heart disease (CHD), but its pharmacological mechanism has not been fully elucidated. In this study, we screened the key pharmacological pathways and targets of CDDP that act on CHD using a network pharmacology-based strategy, and the angiogenic activity of CDDP was directly visually investigated in zebrafish embryos in vivo.
Methods: The potential therapeutic targets and pathways were predicted through a bioinformatics analysis.
In this work, a chitin-based macromolecular chain transfer agent (Chitin-CTA) was designed to graft polymers from chitin at the molecular level. Homogeneous reversible addition-fragmentation chain transfer (RAFT) polymerization was performed to prepare branched MA elastomers, chitin-graft-poly(methyl acrylate) (Chitin-g-PMA) copolymers, which were thermally stable and showed tunable glass transition temperatures. These ultra-stretchable branched MA elastomers exhibit unique strain-hardening behavior and significantly enhanced mechanical properties.
