Objective: To analyze the association between the provision of tuberculosis treatment actions and the sociodemographic and clinical characteristics of cases during the COVID-19 pandemic.

Method: Cross-sectional study conducted with data from secondary sources of 134 tuberculosis cases that underwent treatment in 2020 in the city of Pelotas, RS, Brazil. Data were analyzed using descriptive statistics, Chi-square test, and Fisher's exact test.

Methods: this qualitative study was developed from April to May 2015, with people with tuberculosis undergoing treatment in an outpatient clinic of the Municipal Tuberculosis Control Program in the city of Pelotas. In order to assess laboratory performance of Primary Care Units (UAP, Spanish acronym) in TB diagnosis though the sputum smear test in Pelotas, Brazil, a descriptive study was completed which included all sputum smear tests requested at eleven primary care units from 2007 to 2010. To assess laboratory performance, the number of sputum smear tests requested was quantified as well as the time between the request and the reading of the glass slides at the lab. 477 requests were registered at UAP.
