Objective: The purpose of this study was to evaluate the characteristics and meaning of the vessel wall irregularities sign, observed on computed tomography angiography of the pulmonary arteries of patients with coronavirus disease 2019 (COVID-19) pneumonia.

Materials And Methods: This retrospective study of the computed tomography pulmonary angiography findings of 65 patients diagnosed with COVID-19 included 27 women and 38 men, with a median age of 52 years (range, 20-86 years). The diagnosis of COVID-19 was established through reverse transcription-polymerase chain reaction for infection with severe acute respiratory syndrome coronavirus 2.

Effective communication among members of medical teams is an important factor for early and appropriate diagnosis. The terminology used in radiology reports appears in this context as an important link between radiologists and other members of the medical team. Therefore, heterogeneity in the use of terms in reports is an important but little discussed issue.

Objective: To analyze the computed tomography (CT) findings of lymphocytic interstitial pneumonia (LIP).

Materials And Methods: We retrospectively reviewed the clinical and CT findings of 36 patients with LIP, including 25 women and 11 men, with a mean age of 52.5 years (age range, 22-78 years).

Objective: The aim of this study was to evaluate the high-resolution computed tomography (HRCT) findings in patients diagnosed with metastatic pulmonary calcification (MPC).

Materials And Methods: We retrospectively reviewed the HRCT findings from 23 cases of MPC [14 men, 9 women; mean age, 54.3 (range, 26-89) years].

Rheumatoid arthritis (RA) classically affects the joints, but can present extra-articular manifestations, including pulmonary disease. The present study aimed to identify possible risk factors or laboratory markers for lung involvement in RA, particularly the presence of rheumatoid factor (RF), anti-citrullinated peptide antibodies (ACPA), and tumor markers, by correlating them with changes observed on chest high-resolution computerized tomography (HRCT). This cross-sectional study involved RA patients who were examined and questioned by a specialist physician and later subjected to chest HRCT and blood collection for measurement of C-reactive protein (CRP), erythrocyte sedimentation rate (ESR), rheumatoid factor (RF), ACPA (anti-vimentin and/or anti-CCP3), and the tumor markers carcinoembryonic antigen (CEA), CA 125, CA 15-3, and CA 19-9.

Objective: To evaluate HRCT scans of the chest in 22 patients with cocaine-induced pulmonary disease.

Methods: We included patients between 19 and 52 years of age. The HRCT scans were evaluated by two radiologists independently, discordant results being resolved by consensus.

Amyloidosis is a constellation of disease entities characterized by abnormal extracellular deposition and accumulation of protein and protein derivatives, which show apple-green birefringence when stained with Congo red and viewed under polarized light. Amyloid can infiltrate virtually all organ systems and can display multiple and diverse imaging findings. Pathologically, respiratory involvement occurs in 50 % of patients with amyloidosis, and its clinical signs and symptoms vary depending on whether the disease is systemic or localized.

Objective: To determine the frequency of HRCT findings and their distribution in the lung parenchyma of patients with organizing pneumonia.

Methods: This was a retrospective review of the HRCT scans of 36 adult patients (26 females and 10 males) with biopsy-proven organizing pneumonia. The patients were between 19 and 82 years of age (mean age, 56.

A tumorlike condition of the pleura is any nonmalignant lesion of the pleura or within the pleural space that could be confused with a pleural tumor on initial imaging. Tumorlike conditions of the pleura are relatively rare compared with neoplastic lesions such as mesotheliomas and metastases. Imaging-based diagnosis of these conditions can be difficult due to the similarity of appearance.

Objective: The aim of this study was to analyze chest CT scans of patients with thoracic textiloma.

Methods: This was a retrospective study of 16 patients (11 men and 5 women) with surgically confirmed thoracic textiloma. The chest CT scans of those patients were evaluated by two independent observers, and discordant results were resolved by consensus.

Metastatic pulmonary calcification (MPC) is a subdiagnosed metabolic lung disease that is commonly associated with end-stage renal disease. This interstitial process is characterized by the deposition of calcium salts predominantly in the alveolar epithelial basement membranes. MPC is seen at autopsy in 60-75% of patients with renal failure.

Cocaine is the most commonly used illicit drug among patients presenting at hospital emergency departments and the most frequent cause of drug-related deaths reported by medical examiners. Various respiratory problems temporally associated with cocaine use have been reported. Acute and chronic uses also are responsible for lung complications, such as pulmonary edema, alveolar hemorrhage, pulmonary hypertension, organizing pneumonia, emphysema, barotrauma, infection, cancer, eosinophilic disease, and aspiration pneumonia.

Objective: The purpose of this study was to compare the morphologic characteristics of the "reversed halo" sign caused by tuberculosis with those caused by cryptogenic organizing pneumonia (COP) and to determine whether high-resolution CT (HRCT) can differentiate between these two conditions.

Materials And Methods: We retrospectively reviewed the HRCT scans of patients with the reversed halo sign caused by active tuberculosis and HRCT scans of patients with the reversed halo sign caused by COP. The study included 12 patients with active pulmonary tuberculosis (10 women and two men) and 10 patients with biopsy-proven COP (five women and five men).
