Anthropogenic pollution and global climate change have resulted in favorable environmental conditions for increased frequency and duration of cyanobacterial blooms in aquatic systems. Cyanobacteria can produce toxic metabolites called cyanotoxins, which have become a worldwide concern as they threaten human and animal health. The presence of cyanobacteria and four cyanotoxins were evaluated in a Colombian reservoir.
