Spontaneous intrauterine depressed skull fractures are a rare entity. They can appear secondarily to head trauma (before or during birth) or due to unknown etiology. They usually require a complete evaluation from pediatric neurosurgery specialists.

Attachment insecurity in infants with infantile spasms: Maternal anxiety and sadness, and infant's temperament outweigh disease severity.

Objective: The aim of this study was to investigate attachment behavior in a population of infants with infantile spasms (ISs) using the Strange Situation Procedure (SSP) and to explore factors associated with the infants' attachment behavior.

Methods: The SSP was assessed in a population of 29 children with ISs during the second year of life. In mothers, we assessed anxiety, depression, maternal emotions, and perception of the temperament of the child, and sociodemographic characteristics.

Risk factors associated with mortality in newborn infants with congenital diaphragmatic hernia.

Introduction: Morbidity and mortality are high in congenital diaphragmatic hernia. Some tools help to predict survival, both prenatally (observed/expected lung-to-head ratio [OELHR], presence of the liver in the chest) and postnatally (Congenital Diaphragmatic Hernia Study Group [CDHSG] score). Our objective was to identify the risk factors associated with mortality and estimate the risk-adjusted mortality in the prenatal period in the subgroup of patients with isolated left-sided hernia.
