32 years-old female patient presented with lumbar pain. Computed tomography revealed varicosity of the communicating vein between the left renal vein and the left ascending lumbar vein. This entity may pose technical difficulties during aortoiliac surgeries and renal surgeries as iatrogenic injury of this vessel may cause life- -threatening retroperitoneal hemorrhage.

A 48 year-old female patient presented with arterial hypertension. Computed tomography angiography revealed small stenoses alternating with areas of dilatation (due to small fusiform aneurysms) in the middle to distal portions of the main renal arteries, creating a "string of beads" appearance, findings in keeping with fibromuscular dysplasia.

The cardiovascular manifestations of human immunodeficiency virus (HIV) infection have changed significantly following the introduction of highly active antiretroviral therapy (HAART) regimens. On one hand, HAART has altered the course of HIV disease, with longer survival of HIV-infected patients, and cardiovascular complications of HIV infection such as myocarditis have been reduced. On the other hand, HAART is associated with an increase in the prevalence of both peripheral and coronary arterial disease.
