Objective: This study sought to compare the immediate effects of a single session of dry needling (DN), myofascial release (MR), and sham DN on pressure pain threshold (PPT) and neck pain intensity in individuals with chronic neck pain.
Methods: This was a randomized trial with a blinded outcome assessor. Forty-four individuals with chronic neck pain and unilateral myofascial trigger points in the upper trapezius muscle (UTM) were randomized to receive DN (n = 15), MR (n = 14), or sham DN (n = 15).
A laminar flow bioelectrochemical systems (BES) was designed and benchmarked using microbial anodes dominated with spp. The reactor architecture was based on modeled flow fields, the resulting structure was 3D printed and used for BES manufacturing. Stratification of the substrate availability within the reactor channels led to heterogeneous biomass distribution, with the maximum biomass found mainly in the initial/middle channels.

The aim of this randomized clinical trial was to evaluate the effect of subgingival irrigation of periodontal pockets with a hydroalcoholic solution of propolis extract 20% (w/v) as an adjunct to periodontal therapy. Objectives: To translate and culturally adapt the CMS and assess the validity of the Brazilian version (CMS-BR).
Methods: The translation was carried out according to the back-translation method by four independent translators. The produced versions were synthesized through extensive analysis and by consensus of an expert committee, reaching a final version used for the cultural adaptation.
The reactor systems used for microbial electrosynthesis, i.e. bioelectrochemical systems for achieving bioproduction so far reported in literature are relatively small in scale and highly diverse in their architecture and modes of operation.
