Introduction: Bidirectional vertical ridge augmentation in the posterior maxilla is very challenging.
Purpose: To evaluate the regenerative potential of micrografts, derived from periosteum or bone tissue, added to an anorganic xenograft in vertical reconstruction of the posterior maxilla, by a prospective, controlled study.
Materials And Methods: After clinical selection and the analysis of CBCT scans, 24 posterior maxillary sites, in 19 patients, were treated by using Barbell Technique®.
Objective: to assess the effectiveness of 5% Brazilian green propolis (ointment) in individuals with chronic ulcers.
Methods: a randomized clinical trial, developed with 40 patients randomized equally to control group (treated with essential fatty acid) and experimental group (treated with 5% green propolis) for 30 days. The outcomes of interest were sociodemographic, clinical and laboratory characteristics, lesion characteristics, such as type of tissue in the bed, presence of exudate, edge characteristics, microbial content and pain.
The pentavalent and poliomyelitis vaccines are provided to children through the National Immunization Program in Brazil. For the last few years, this program has been responsible for eradication of various diseases in the country. To describe the vaccination coverage of the pentavalent vaccine and the polio vaccine in Brazil from 2013 to 2022.

To overcome this challenge, a novel concept was recently published called "Barbell Technique." This technique has been used more commonly for horizontal bone augmentation.

However, most current techniques are focused on unidirectional bone reconstruction (grafting only on the buccal side). This study was carried out to validate a new device that will permit bidirectional bone augmentation.

The current Brazilian scenario reflects the reality in which these children and adolescents are inserted, without sufficient resources for the continuity of basic or elementary education, and often the parents' lack of income leads these young people to seek work, as can be seen in several capitals and inland cities: children selling food at traffic lights, bars, restaurants, and similar situations5. According to a study carried out by Abrinq Foundation (Fundação Abrinq), in the last quarter of 2021, there were about 2.

The aim of this study was to compare the clinical, tomographic, and histological performance of collagenated xenogeneic bone blocks (CXBB) in horizontal bone augmentations for implant placement. Five patients with an absence of the 4 upper incisors and an HAC 3 horizontal bone defect, with a remaining of 3 to 5 mm, underwent a bone-grafting procedure with CXBB (test group [TG], n = 5) and autogenous graft (control group [CG], n = 5), with one type of graft used on the right side and other type on the left side. Changes in bone thickness and density (tomographic evaluation), levels of complications (clinically), and distribution pattern between mineralized and nonmineralized tissue (histomorphometrically) were analyzed.

Therefore, the southeast region of Brazil has a higher prevalence of cases, in which from 2019 to 2022 there were 1710 leukemia cases. In addition, the average of general notifications had higher frequency in 2021 with 1761 diagnoses, with higher emphasis on the southeast region, presenting 495 cases this year.

Brazil is a country that has several projects to combat hunger and malnutrition in early childhood, but 2021 was a year with the highest number of hospitalizations of children up to 60 months of life in the last 13 years. Factors such as social disparities and the Covid-19 pandemic contributed to this scenario.

As soon as they are taken prisoner, children and adolescents in times of war are inserted into a spiral of cruelty that progresses to rape or other countless forms of physical and psychological torture using sex as a weapon. Were these children and adolescents war sex slaves? Oral sex and other sexual barbarities are part of spaces of abuse and humiliation. The damage to the personality structure of these children and adolescents is severe.

This issue is due to the lack of information or access to fake news that affects the parents' power of judgment. The experience of the vaccine process with Pfizer's immunizer in several countries successfully reduced the number of hospitalized and prevented hundreds of child deaths from COVID-19.

Especially children, who live in a reality of extreme poverty, low level of education and precarious health services close to their communities. Health professionals must look closely at indigenous children so that they can help them deal with the impact that the pandemic has brought with it.

The Influenza activity remained at inter-seasonal levels; however, influenza A(H3N2) detections continue to increase in Brazil, Chile, Paraguay, and Uruguay. Most of the activity and rising trend of A(H3N2) detections are recorded in Brazil. A bulletin issued by the Oswaldo Cruz Foundation (Fiocruz) reported significant presence of the influenza A virus, both in children and in the adult population, among cases of SARS-Cov-2.

Background: This experimental study assessed reverse torque of indexed and nonindexed (NI) abutments in Morse Taper (MT) implants in a mechanical fatigue test.
Materials And Methods: In this experimental study It was used 37 implants MT and over them installed Pilar Flex abutments (4.8 mm × 6 mm × 1.
The lack of guidelines for bone augmentation procedures might compromise decision making in implantology. The objective of this study was to perform a retrospective study to verify the outcomes of horizontal bone reconstruction in implant dentistry with different types of materials and amounts of native bone in the recipient bed to allow for a new guideline for horizontal bone reconstruction. One hundred preoperative CT scans were retrospectively evaluated and categorized in accordance to horizontal bone defects as presence (Group P) or absence (Group A) of cancellous bone in the recipient bed.

The review is contextualized within related research from psychology, philosophy, and particularly artificial intelligence. Influenced by psychological theories of surprise, the model assumes that surprise-eliciting events initiate a series of cognitive processes that begin with the appraisal of the event as unexpected, continue with the interruption of ongoing activity and the focusing of attention on the unexpected event, and culminate in the analysis and evaluation of the event and the revision of beliefs.

Background: Wearable cameras are a new type of intervention aimed at stimulating memory in Alzheimer's disease (AD). Such passive external memory aids have started to be considered as alternatives to both more active external aids (such as writing in diaries, journals, and timetables) and to internal cognitive strategies (such as spaced retrieval, errorless learning).
Objective: In order to understand the benefits of these innovative devices for memory compensation, the present experiment examined the effectiveness of two memory training strategies: SenseCam, a wearable camera, a passive external memory aid and a memory training programme (MEMO+) created from tasks known to stimulate memory, in comparison with a control condition, a personal written diary.
