This study evaluated the role of the mesenchymal stem cells derived from adipose tissue (MSCs) in provoked ventricular arrhythmias (VAs) in animals with myocardial infarction (MI). The experimental groups were: sham, subjected to sham surgery and intramyocardial saline injection; MIV, infarcted rats subjected to intramyocardial saline injection; MI + MSCs, infarcted rats subjected to intramyocardial MSCs injection. Injections were performed two days after infarction and the arrhythmogenic inducibility experiment was performed the next day.
View Article and Find Full Text PDFLow-level laser therapy (LLLT) has been targeted as a promising tool that can mitigate post-infarction cardiac remodeling. However, there is no gold standard energy delivered to the heart and few studies have evaluated the impact of LLLT on cardiac performance. This study evaluated effects of repeated LLLT applications with different energies delivered to the infarcted myocardium.

Right ventricular remodeling with subsequent functional impairment can occur in some clinical conditions in adults and children. The triggering factors, molecular mechanisms, and, especially, the evolution over time are still not well known. Left ventricular (LV) changes associated with right ventricular (RV) remodeling are also poorly understood.

It appears that exercise training (ET) improves myocardial microenvironment for SC transplantation. Therefore, we tested the effect of ET on post-infarction retention of adipose-derived SCs (ADSCs) and its combined effects on the inflammatory microenvironment.

Thus, new approaches are needed, and photobiomodulation therapy (PBMt) may be a way. However, it is not known whether PBMt added to a standard HF therapy provides additional improvement in cardiac remodeling in infarcted rats.

Exercise training effects on the contractility of aged myocardium have been investigated for more than 20 years, but the data are still unclear. This study evaluated the hypothesis that a swimming training (ST) may improve myocardial inotropism in older rats. Male Wistar rats aged 4 (young)-and 21 (old)-months-old were divided into young untrained (YNT), old untrained (ONT), and old trained (OTR; 6 weeks of ST) groups.

However, the correspondence of the virtual line created by EnSite with the pathological lesion has not yet been evaluated.
Objective: to assess the continuousness of Ensite-guided virtual lines in a swine model.
