Analysis of the Initial Learning Curve for Robotic-Assisted Total Knee Arthroplasty Using the ROSA Knee System.

Total knee arthroplasty (TKA) is a frequent procedure in orthopedic surgery. Advances in TKA include the development of robotic-assisted systems. Training in raTKA entails a learning curve to achieve proficiency comparable to conventional manual TKA (maTKA).

White-coat and masked hypertension diagnoses in chronic kidney disease patients.

The purpose of this study was to analyze which 24-hour ambulatory blood pressure measurement (ABPM) parameters should be used on masked hypertension (MH) and white-coat hypertension (WCH) diagnoses in chronic kidney disease (CKD) patients. Non-dialysis CKD patients underwent 24-hour ABPM examination between 01/27/2004 and 02/16/2012. They were followed from the 24-hour ABPM to January/2014 in an observational study.

Clinical factors associated with the development of nonuse learned after stroke: a prospective study.

: Upper extremity impairment is present in most of people with stroke. The use of the affected upper extremity can be impacted not only by physical impairment but also by abehavioral phenomenon called learned nonuse. : The aim of this study was to evaluate which clinical factors in the acute phase are associated with the development of learned nonuse in the upper extremity after stroke.

The Role of Small Nanoparticles on the Formation of Hot Spots under Microwave-Assisted Hydrothermal Heating.

Herein, we report a detailed study of microwave-matter interaction focused on the role of small nanoparticles and the effects on microwave thermal heating. We have used a model reaction (degradation of methylene blue) to study the influence of temperature, size, and catalytic properties of the nanoparticles in the potential formation of hot spots. Total mineralization was achieved after 3 h microwave heating at 200 °C in the presence of 2 nm TiO nanoparticles (92% calculated TOC decay), but the reaction resulted in a mixture of intermediates (52% TOC decay) in the absence of TiO.

[Acute exacerbation of idiopathic pulmonary fibrosis].

Idiopathic pulmonary fibrosis (IPF) is a chronic progressive disease. Its natural history may have episodes of acute exacerbation (AE-IPF), whose best accepted definition would be a clinically significant acute worsening, without identified cause, in patients with an underlying IPF. The incidence of AE-IPF ranges from 5%-19% of patients per year.
