Few studies have investigated risk factors associated with recurrent venous thromboembolism (VTE) after a first CVT event of which most are from Caucasian populations. This paper aims to record the first occurrence of the Class Insecta in the Romualdo Member of the Santana Formation of the Araripe Basin, as well as to describe and discuss the paleo-ecological implications of such finding. The first occurrence of the order Orthoptera (family Gryllidae) is presented for this unit.

A 68-year-old female patient with Sjögren syndrome was admitted with asthenia, anorexia and weight loss. On the third day of admission, she developed severe hematemesis. Urgent upper gastrointestinal endoscopy (UGE) showed multiple gastric and duodenal ulcers, some with active bleeding requiring endoscopic therapy.
