Article Synopsis
  • The case discusses a rare heart condition where the right atrial appendages are positioned unusually to the left, discovered in a child at a hospital in Sonora.
  • This anomaly is linked to more complex heart defects, including the absence of the right atrioventricular connection and transposition of the great arteries.
  • Although two-dimensional echocardiograms typically diagnose such conditions, this case was identified incidentally during surgery or autopsy, highlighting the importance of timely diagnosis for treatment strategies.
