Purpose Of This Review: Immune checkpoint inhibitors (ICI) have revolutionized cancer therapy over the past decade. Unfortunately, immune related adverse events (irAEs) are common, including rheumatologic adverse events. These rheumatologic irAEs include de novo rheumatoid arthritis-like presentations or flares of pre-existing rheumatoid arthritis, collectively called ICI-associated rheumatoid arthritis.

Methods: This case-control study included 540 CDI patients aged ≥60 years admitted to a tertiary care hospital in Detroit, Michigan, between January 2005 and December 2012.
A young female presented with acute left lower quadrant pain followed by nausea and vomiting. She was found to have haematuria and elevated serum creatine. CT scan revealed a wedge-shaped hypodensity along with an intraluminal filling defect on the left kidney.

Scant data exist on the impact of antimicrobial therapy on clinical outcomes in patients with ESBL bloodstream infections (BSI), and no large studies have examined the impact of cefepime therapy. A retrospective 3-year study was performed at the Detroit Medical Center on adult patients with BSI due to ESBL-producing Klebsiella pneumoniae or Escherichia coli.
