Background: Ipsilateral Galeazzi fracture with elbow dislocation, namely the "floating ulna" injury, is a rare injury pattern. A few reports have described this type of injury and its treatment.

Case Presentation: A 33-year-old female at 38 weeks gestational age presented with Galeazzi fracture and posterolateral elbow dislocation of the left upper extremity.

Studies have shown that Chinese herb caulis extract can effectively inhibit the expression of the core regulatory hormone hepcidin in iron metabolism and significantly increase the iron level in the body. On this basis, this paper analyzed clinical efficacy and safety of oral niferex (polysaccharide iron complex) combined with caulis Decoction in the treatment of iron deficiency anemia. The results showed that the recovery rate of the Caulis group, Niferex group and the combined treatment group were 41.

In this study, we aimed to investigate the expression of miR-145 before and after hASCs osteogenic differentiation. We also intended to explore the influence of the target relationship between miR-145 and FoxO1 on osteogenic differentiation. Dual-luciferase reporter gene assay and real-time PCR were used to confirm the target relationship between miR-145 and FoxO1.

Bone morphogenetic protein 2 (BMP-2) and transforming growth factor β (TGF-β) isoforms are important in advancing bone regeneration. The aim of the present study was to investigate the positive and reciprocal effect of TGF‑β3, one of the three TGF‑β isoforms, on BMP‑2 in promoting osteogenic differentiation. Exogenous BMP‑2 and TGF‑β3 genes were separately, and in combination, overexpressed in rabbit bone marrow‑derived mesenchymal stem cells (rBMSCs).

Vacuum sealing is a therapeutic concept to achieve secure and rapid wound healing in traumatic soft tissue damage. Its application and effect in the treatment of severe buttocks and perianal infection are unclear. We describe a case of buttocks and perianal infection using the vacuum sealing drainage (VSD) technique.

Introduction: Titanium-nickel shape memory alloy (Ti-Ni SMA) is characterized by shape-memory effect, super-elasticity, excellent fatigue behavior, corrosion resistance, acceptable biocompatibility and high damping capacity.

Materials And Methods: Claw-like Ti-Ni SMA fixator (SMA-claw) has been used to treat transverse fracture of patella. 29 patients (19 males, 10 females) aged from 21 to 71 years old (averaged 43.

Osteoarthritis (OA) is an age-related joint disease that is characterized by the degeneration of articular chondrocytes. Nuclear enzyme poly(ADP-ribose) polymerase 1 (PARP-1) is associated with inflammation response. We investigated the role of PARP-1 in interleukin-1β (IL-1β)-stimulated human articular chondrocytes and its underlying mechanism.

We have explored the osteogenic potency of adipose-derived stem cells from osteoporotic patients (opASCs). opASCs were osteogenically induced in vitro with collagen I hydrogel or in culture plate. Detection of alkaline phosphatase (ALPase) and cell mineralisation, and quantitative RT-PCR of collagen I, osteocalcin and bone sialoprotein were undertaken.

Introduction: Spontaneous thoracic curve correction may occur following selective anterior spinal fusion in patients with adolescent idiopathic scoliosis (AIS). However, a few reports have described outcomes in patients following selective posterior fusion. The aim of this retrospective study was to assess curve correction in AIS patients with major lumbar curves and secondary thoracic curves after selective posterior fusion of the major curve.

Objective: To compare the clinical outcomes and differences of arthroscopic anterior cruciate ligament (ACL) reconstruction by using allografts and autografts.

Methods: Fifty-three patients with grade III ACL injuries were divided randomly into 2 groups. Twenty-five cases of group A with autografts of patellar bone-tendon-bone (B-PT-B;n = 15) and 4 strands of semitendinosus/gracilis (n = 10); 28 patients of group B with allografts of B-PT-B (n = 18), 4 strands of semitendinosus/2 strands of gracilis tendons (n = 6) and double tibialis posterior (n = 4) as well as Achilles bone-tendon (n = 2).
