5-Hydroxyindoleacetic acid (5-HIAA), a vital metabolite of serotonin (5-HT), is crucial for understanding metabolic pathways and is implicated in various mental disorders. In situ monitoring of 5-HIAA is challenging due to the lack of affinity ligands and issues with electrochemical fouling. We present an advanced sensing approach that integrates customizable molecular imprinting polymer (MIP) with self-driven galvanic redox potentiometry (GRP) for precise, real-time in vivo monitoring of 5-HIAA.

Here, unexpectedly, we found that OH can be unequivocally generated by incubation of HO and mercaptotriazole (MTZ), a typical heterocyclic thiol which has been used as an environmentally friendly corrosion inhibitor for mild steel. By the complementary applications of HPLC-MS and oxygen-18 isotope-labeling method, MTZ-derived sulfenic (MTZ-SOH) and sulfinic acids were detected and identified as transient intermediates, and sulfonic acid as final products.

Herein, it is shown that the nanomagnetism from Fe and FeO nanoparticles embedded in BiSbTe/epoxy flexible films can lead to the carriers splitting into spin-up and spin-down conductive branches with different resistances and mobilities due to the exchange interaction between the spin of carriers and the nanomagnetism. The double-resistance conduction of carriers may well explain the decoupling of electrical conductivity and Seebeck coefficient and their simultaneous enhancements in the thermo-electro-magnetic flexible films.

This damage manifests as mucus hypersecretion, pulmonary inflammation and fibrosis, which often lead to long-term complications collectively referred to as long COVID or post-acute sequelae of COVID-19 (PASC). The airway epithelium, as the first line of defence against respiratory pathogens, depends on airway basal stem cells (BSCs) for regeneration.

Therefore, the development of efficient methodologies for late-stage, site-selective RNA modification is of considerable interest, as it facilitates the functional exploration of RNA chemical modifications and their implications for therapeutic applications. Precise RNA modification holds significant promise for the treatment of genetic diseases by enabling the correction of mutated nucleobases to their wild-type forms.

We demonstrated a competitive aptasensor for OTA detection using CRISPR/Cas12a as an effective signal amplifier. OTA competes with complementary DNA of the aptamer on the microplate to bind to the aptamer.

However, developing diagnostic tools for sensitive, simple, and early tumor (especially less than 2 mm in diameter) detection remains a challenge. Herein, we presented a biomarker-activatable nanoprobe that enabled a near-infrared (NIR) photothermally amplified signal for fluorescence imaging and urinalysis of tumor.

Urban waterfront-built environments in cold regions are more conducive to public health than green spaces alone. However, their failure to meet health intervention expectations calls for further research to explore potential intervention pathways and mechanisms. This study conducted an in-depth investigation of Shenyang, a city in China's cold region.

These varying demands present substantial challenges in the selection of TFT materials and the optimization of device performance. This study begins by examining three primary application areas for TFTs: display drivers, photodetectors, and optoelectronic synapses.

In Multiple Myeloma (MM), a cancer of plasma cells, disease progression is determined by changes in biomarkers, such as serum concentration of the paraprotein secreted by plasma cells (M-protein). Therefore, the time-dependent behavior of M-protein and the transition across lines of therapy (LoT), which may be a consequence of disease progression, should be accounted for in statistical models to predict relevant clinical outcomes.

However, identifying suitable gene targets remains a crucial step in the development of RNA interference (RNAi)-based pest control strategies.
Results: In this study, three apoptosis-related genes were selected to evaluate their potential for RNAi-induced lethality in Henosepilachna vigintioctopunctata via foliar spray dsRNAs.
