To investigate the effect of High-Frequency Electric Welding (HFEW) on intestinal tissue healing, we performed end-to-end anastomosis experiments in New Zealand rabbits. Within one week post-surgery, animals exhibited normal vital signs, replaced necrotic tissue with healthy collagen, and showed improved tissue strength while inflammation decreased. By day 60, tissue pathology and function fully recovered, resembling normal tissue.

Introduction And Aim: The main categories of drugs employed for medical expulsive therapy in patients with ureteral calculi (UC) are alpha-blockers (α-B) and beta-adrenoceptor agonists. This meta-analysis evaluated the safety and effectiveness of α-B versus mirabegron (MIR) in treating UC.

Methods: From January 1980 to October 2024, we extensively searched the Pubmed, Web of science, Cochrane and EMBASE databases to identify randomized controlled trials (RCTs) that compared the effectiveness of α-B and MIR in managing UC.

Dual-band electrochromic devices capable of the spectral-selective modulation of visible (VIS) light and near-infrared (NIR) can notably reduce the energy consumption of buildings and improve the occupants' visual and thermal comfort. However, the low optical modulation and poor durability of these devices severely limit its practical applications. Herein, we demonstrate an efficient and flexible bifunctional dual-band electrochromic device which not only shows excellent spectral-selective electrochromic performance with a high optical modulation and a long cycle life, but also displays a high capacitance and a high energy recycling efficiency of 51.

Background: Contrast-induced nephropathy (CIN) is an adverse renal event that occurs following the administration of contrast media for diagnostic procedures or therapeutic angiographic intervention. Nevertheless, there is currently no efficacious and safe agents for the treatment of CIN, except for hydration. We aimed to conduct a meta-analysis to verify the potential nephroprotective role of sodium-glucose cotransporter 2 inhibitors (SGLT2is) in the prevention of CIN.

Background: Although it has been noticed that depressed patients show differences in processing emotions, the precise neural modulation mechanisms of positive and negative emotions remain elusive. FMRI is a cutting-edge medical imaging technology renowned for its high spatial resolution and dynamic temporal information, making it particularly suitable for the neural dynamics of depression research.

Methods: To address this gap, our study firstly leveraged fMRI to delineate activated regions associated with positive and negative emotions in healthy individuals, resulting in the creation of the positive emotion atlas (PEA) and the negative emotion atlas (NEA).

(CM), a well-known parasitic fungus that grows on the larvae of , has a variety of pharmacological activities. However, little is known about its safe dosage for animals, including pigs. To explore its effect on intestinal health and evaluate its safe dosage, 30 weaned pigs were randomly allotted to five groups and fed with a basal diet supplemented with different doses of CM for 42 days.

Currently, the main limitations of Pd-coated Nb-TiFe dual-phase alloys include insufficient hydrogen permeability, susceptibility to hydrogen embrittlement (HE), and poor tolerance of HS poisoning. To address these issues, this study proposes a series of improvements. First, a novel NbTiFe alloy composed of a well-aligned Nb-TiFe eutectic was successfully prepared using directional solidification (DS) technology.

Chiral molecules are ubiquitous in nature and biological systems, where the unique optical and physical properties of chiral nanoparticles are closely linked to their shapes. Synthesizing chiral plasmonic nanomaterials with precise structures and tunable sizes is essential for exploring their applications. This study presents a method for growing three-dimensional chiral gold nanoflowers (Au NFs) derived from trisoctahedral (TOH) nanocrystals using D-cysteine and L-cysteine as chiral inducers.

Copper-based materials, renowned for their redox versatility and conductivity, have extensive applications in electrochemical sensing. Herein, we construct stable Cu/Cu interfaces within dual-valence copper nanostructures to achieve enhanced sensitivity in glucose sensing. By employing a hydrolysis method to tune Cu/Cu ratios precisely, we achieved an optimal electrochemical interface with heightened stability and reactivity.

Irregularly shaped wounds cause severe chronic infections, which have attracted worldwide attention due to their high prevalence and poor treatment outcomes. In this study, we designed a new composite functional dressing consisting of traditional Chinese herb carbonized plant powder (CPP) and a polyacrylic acid (PAA)/polyethylenimine (PEI) gel. The rapid gelation of the dressing within 6-8 s allowed the gel to be firmly attached to an irregularly shaped wound surface and avoided powder detachment.

Rice-fish farming is an ancient and enduring aquaculture model in China. This study aimed to assess the variations in digestive enzymes, antioxidant properties, glucose metabolism, and nutritional content between reared in paddy fields and ponds. Notably, the levels of amylase and trypsin in from rice paddies were considerably higher compared to those from ponds.

General control nonderepressible 5 (Gcn5) is a lysine acetyltransferase (KAT) that is evolutionarily conserved across eukaryotes, with two homologs (Kat2a and Kat2b) identified in humans and one (Gcn5) in . Gcn5 contains a P300/CBP-associated factor (PCAF) domain, a Gcn5-N-acetyltransferase (GNAT) domain, and a Bromodomain, allowing it to regulate gene expression through the acetylation of both histone and non-histone proteins. In , Gcn5 is crucial for embryonic development, with maternal Gcn5 supporting early development.

Peach () is widely cultivated in China, but fungal diseases, particularly Cytospora canker, significantly impact tree health, reducing fruit yield and economic value. This disease mainly weakens tree branches and trunks, sometimes leading to tree death. There are no updated studies on the diversity of species associated with peach Cytospora canker in northern China.

is a typical aroma-producing yeast in food brewing, but it has low heat resistance and poor proliferation ability at high temperature. Trehalose is generally considered to be a protective agent that helps stable yeast cells resist heat shock stress, but its functional mechanism for yeast cells in the adaptation period under heat stress is unclear. In this study, the physiological metabolism changes, specific gene transcription expression characteristics, and transcriptome differences of under different carbon sources under high-temperature stress (40 °C) were compared to explore the mechanism of trehalose inducing to recover and proliferate under high-temperature stress during the adaptation period.

Accurate methods for assessing food freshness through colorimetric pH response play a critical role in determining food spoilage and ensuring food quality standards. This study introduces a novel unlabeled DNA sequence, poly-dA, designed to exploit the colorimetric properties of both the single strand and the fold-back A-motif structure in conjunction with gold nanoparticles (AuNPs) under varying pH conditions. When exposed to storage temperatures of 4 °C and 25 °C, the color variations in the AuNP solution, influenced by pH level changes in mutton and sea bass samples' different storage periods, are easily discernible to the naked eye within a minute.
