Background: Retroperitoneal abscess is a dangerous complication of the inflammatory process in organs. The pancreas reacts by enzymatic autodigestion and inflammation to external and internal factors: alcohol abuse, trauma, biliary stones, and viral infections. Chronic pancreatitis and formation of pseudocysts are late complications.
