Background: The reported prevalence of tinnitus in children is similar to that in adults. However, unlike adults, there is relatively little understanding of the tinnitus-related problems children experience. Knowledge of the problems experienced by adults has led to the development of numerous clinical questionnaires used by health professionals in assessment and treatment practices; to date no child-specific questionnaire measure of tinnitus has been developed.

Objective: To scope the literature describing misophonia populations, management, and research opportunities.

Method: Literature searches for research studies describing patients diagnosed with misophonia, defining a patient profile, or outlining development or testing of an intervention for misophonia. A data extraction form was developed and piloted before data from each article were independently charted by two researchers.

Introduction: Diabetes mellitus is one of the most common metabolic problems and is characterized by persistent hyperglycaemia. Exposure to chronic hyperglycaemia can affect many tissues including the Achilles Tendon, which is one of the largest tendons in the body. The current literature on the effects of hyperglycaemia on tendons is sparse, though evidence on rat models does suggest a process of chronic degeneration, which is increased in the presence of neuropathy and deformity.

Objective: The aim of this review was to assess the effectiveness of different psychological interventions for children and adults with cleft lip and/or palate and their parents.

Design: We searched six databases including MEDLINE and EMBASE to June 2013 and checked bibliographies. We included research that evaluated any psychological intervention in studies in which at least 90% of the participants had cleft lip and/or palate or were parents of those with cleft lip and/or palate.
