A study of associated congenital anomalies with biliary atresia.

Background/purpose: This study aims to analyze the incidence and type of various associated anomalies among infants with extrahepatic biliary atresia (EHBA), compare their frequency with those quoted in the existing literature and assess their role in the overall management.
Materials And Methods: A retrospective study was performed on 137 infants who underwent the Kasai procedure for EHBA during the past 12 years. The medical records were reviewed for the incidence and type of associated anomalies in addition to the details of the management of the EHBA.
Lumbo-costo-vertebral syndrome (LCVS) is a set of rare abnormalities involving vertebral bodies, ribs, and abdominal wall. We present a case of LCVS in a 2-year-old girl who had a progressive swelling over left lumbar area noted for the last 12 months. Clinical examination revealed a reducible swelling with positive cough impulse.

Aims: To correlate the age at surgery, liver function tests, and hepatic and portal tract histo-pathological changes with surgical outcome in the form of disappearance of jaundice in extrahepatic biliary atresia (EHBA).
Materials And Methods: This is a retrospective study of 39 cases of EHBA. There were 19 males and 10 females.
Objectives: To study the patients with hypospadias for urinary tract anomalies, bladder functions and the anatomical changes in the urethra, bladder and ureters.
Patients And Methods: 65 cases of untreated hypospadias (14 anterior, 46 mid penile, 5 posterior penile) presenting between 1 and 14 years age were evaluated with ultrasonography, urodynamic study, uroflowmetry and intraoperative cystourethroscopy.
Results: Ultrasound showed abnormalities in 12/65 (18.
