We present a randomized clinical trial to compare postoperative pain, complications, feeling of a foreign body, and recurrence between heavyweight and lightweight meshes in patients with bilateral groin hernia. Sixty-seven patients with bilateral hernia were included in our study. In each patient, the side of the lightweight mesh was decided by random numbers table.

The low feasibility of rat eradications on many islands makes the development of alternate control plans necessary. We used a combination of field experiments on a Mediterranean island invaded by black rats (Rattusrattus) to evaluate (1) the predation risk posed to different-sized seabird eggs and (2), the potential of two deterrent methods (electronic and chemical) to reduce its impact.

Materials And Methods: A prospective study of a selected group of patients diagnosed preoperatively with DCIS was performed between 2004 and 2009. Indications for SLNB were histologically determined high-grade tumours, tumour size >2 cm and patients scheduled to undergo a mastectomy.
