Recommendations from the Galician Oncological Society and the Galician Society of Nuclear Medicine for the use of Lu-PSMA-617 radioligand-therapy in prostate cancer.

Theragnostic is a type of precision medicine that uses molecules linked to radioactive isotopes for the diagnosis and treatment of diseases. In recent years, it has gained significant importance to treat neuroendocrine tumors and is currently being used in prostate cancer. Various radiopharmaceuticals have emerged for diagnosing and detecting lesions showing prostate-specific membrane antigen (PSMA) positivity on the Positron emission tomography/computed tomography scan, being the most widely used labeled with [Ga] and [F].

Lumbar Gout Tophus Mimicking Epidural Abscess with Magnetic Resonance Imaging, Bone, and Gallium Scans.

Gout is a common metabolic disorder, typically diagnosed in peripheral joints. Tophaceous deposits in lumbar spine are a very rare condition with very few cases reported in literature. The following is a case report of a 52-year-old patient with low back pain, left leg pain, and numbness.

Bilateral alien hand syndrome in cerebrovascular disease: CT, MR, CT angiography, and 99mTc-HMPAO-SPECT findings.

We report a 65-year-old man with a right cerebral infarction that occurred 15 years ago and a residual left hemiparesis that began with progressive contralateral hemiparesis. During the hospitalization, the patient developed a bilateral alien hand syndrome. Urgent CT, MR, CT angiography, and brain perfusion SPECT were performed that revealed an old right cerebral infarction and a new ischemic lesion in left parietal lobe and adjacent brain territories.

"Shin splint" syndrome and tibial stress fracture in the same patient diagnosed by means of (99m)Tc-HMDP SPECT/CT.

We show a patient who presented leg pain triggered by intense exercise. The most likely diagnosis was a possible tibial stress fracture or a "shin splint" syndrome (soleus enthesopathy). We performed a bone scintigraphy including SPECT/CT that revealed the presence of the two concomitant pathologies.

Bilateral axillary and internal mammary drainage in breast cancer without prior surgery during sentinel node mapping.

Lymphatic drainage outside the ipsilateral axilla in breast cancer is discovered in as many as 25% of all sentinel lymph node procedures and it is evidenced by lymphoscintigraphy. Contralateral axillary drainage is a rare clinical situation, mostly if there is not prior breast surgery, but this situation is extremely exceptional if we also found internal mammary chain drainage. We have not found such a case published in literature.

Radioguided surgery in brain tumors with thallium-201.

Rationale: Malignant astrocytomas show thallium uptake with a high target-to-background ratio, allowing the use of radioguided surgery.

Method: We report on 6 patients (3 men) diagnosed with malignant astrocytoma. All patients signed informed consent documents.

Adrenal metastasis of breast cancer with involvement of the inferior vena cava.

Tumour thrombosis of the inferior cava vein is usually associated with primary renal cell cancer. To our knowledge, this is the first case reported of adrenal metastasis of breast cancer extending into the inferior vena cava. There are few references in the literature documenting this extension with positron emission tomography (PET) and enhanced computed tomography (CT).

[Contribution of positron emission tomography to the detection and staging of breast cancer].

Introduction: 18F-fluorodeoxyglucose positron emission tomography (FDG-PET) is a diagnostic imaging tool with multiple applications in oncology. One of the more promising applications in breast cancer is noninvasive lymph node staging and detection of distant metastases, which may provide useful information about prognosis and treatment response.

Material And Method: Published studies on FDG-PET applications in breast cancer detection and staging were reviewed.
