The availability of medications to induce abortion, especially in contexts of restricted access, has transformed practices and allowed women and/or their community organizations to assist other women in obtaining abortions, whether or not they interact with the healthcare system. This study recovers the experience of a feminist community organization that, from the province of Neuquén, extends throughout the country, creating a network of community care. An exploratory descriptive study with a qualitative approach was conducted to analyze the experiences of women who facilitate access to permitted abortion in Argentina.

Certain Rabs recruit the guanine nucleotide exchange factor (GEF) that activates a subsequent acting Rab protein in a given pathway; this process has been termed a Rab cascade. The Amaryllidaceae alkaloid bulbispermine was derivatized to produce a small group of synthetic analogues. These, together with bulbispermine's natural crinine-type congeners, were evaluated in vitro against a panel of cancer cell lines with various levels of resistance to pro-apoptotic stimuli. Bulbispermine, haemanthamine, and haemanthidine showed the most potent antiproliferative activities as determined by the MTT colorimetric assay.

Diversely substituted 2-pyrrolines have been prepared by a novel multicomponent process involving a reaction of various N-(aryl- and alkylsulfonamido)-acetophenones with aldehydes and malononitrile. While the reaction is highly regioselective, it is not stereoselective, generating a mixture of cis and trans 2-pyrrolines. A number of analogs from both cis and trans 2-pyrroline libraries were found to have antiproliferative activity in human cancer cell lines.

The 5-HT2 antagonist ketanserin inhibited salt appetite induced by subchronic deoxycorticosterone acetate (DOCA) treatment, as well as salt appetite induced by sodium depletion (which is governed by the synergy of aldosterone and angiotensin in the brain). The effect of ketanserin was more evident following intraperitoneal than intracerebroventricular injection. On the other hand, ketanserin did not inhibit either salt intake induced by intracranial renin injection, or the need-free salt intake of the multidepleted female rat, which is not dependent on the renin-angiotensin-aldosterone system.
