Effects of Exposure to Low Concentrations of Oil on the Expression of Cytochrome P4501a and Routine Swimming Speed of Atlantic Haddock () Larvae In Situ.

Exposure to environmentally relevant concentrations of oil could impact survival of fish larvae in situ through subtle effects on larval behavior. During the larval period, Atlantic haddock () are transported toward nursery grounds by ocean currents and active swimming, which can modify their drift route. Haddock larvae are sensitive to dispersed oil; however, whether exposure to oil during development impacts the ability of haddock larvae to swim in situ is unknown.

Effects of anodal TDCS stimulation of left parietal cortex on visual spatial attention tasks in men and women across menstrual cycle.

Sex hormonal variations have been shown to affect functional cerebral asymmetries in cognitive domains, contributing to sex-related differences in functional cerebral organization. The aim of this study was to investigate spatial attention by means of a bisection line test and computer-supported attention task during the menstrual cycle in healthy women compared to men, in basal condition and under Transcranial Direct Current Stimulation (TDCS) of the left parietal cortex. Women were studied during the menses, follicular and luteal phases, ascertained by transvaginal ultrasounds.

Validity of family history data on primary adult-onset dystonia.

Background: To our knowledge, no study has assessed the validity of family history data provided by probands with adult-onset dystonia.

Objective: To measure the sensitivity and specificity of interviewing patients with primary adult-onset dystonia as a method for obtaining information on dystonia in first-degree relatives.

Participants: Seventy probands with primary adult-onset dystonia were asked to identify first-degree relatives who had dystonia.

Frequency of familial aggregation in primary adult-onset cranial cervical dystonia.

Family history of definite/probable dystonia was studied in 36 probands with primary adult-onset cranial/cervical dystonia. Of the 157 relatives who were examined, 8 from 7 families and 11 from 10 families were diagnosed as having definite or probable dystonia, respectively. The frequency of familial occurrence of definite dystonia was 19.
