Scientists are working on new ways to treat tough tumors without surgery using light and special materials called gold nanorods that can absorb heat and kill cancer cells.
A special combination of gold nanorods and a dye (toluidine blue-O) showed strong effects against human colorectal cancer cells, making many of them stop living.
The study found that these gold nanorods not only help absorb light but also create harmful chemicals that attack the cancer cells, making them a promising option for future treatments.
