This study compared the effects of different final irrigation protocols on the mechanical properties and structural integrity of root dentine. One-hundred eight teeth were instrumented and irrigated with sodium hypochlorite (NaOCl) using conventional irrigation (CI). Teeth were distributed into four groups based on final irrigation protocols: Control Group (CG): 17%EDTA/CI + H2O; G1: 2.

Introduction: Prospective registration of randomized clinical trials (RCTs) is highly recommended to ensure research transparency and prevent selective outcome reporting (SOR). This study aimed to evaluate the adherence to registration and the presence of SOR in RCTs published in endodontic journals over the past 5 years.
Methods: Electronic searches were conducted in PubMed and the libraries of the Journal of Endodontics, International Endodontic Journal, European Endodontic Journal, and Australian Endodontic Journal.
Background: Acral melanomas (AM) are rare and approximately two-thirds of them occur on the soles of the feet beeing more prevalent in black and Asian individuals. Data on this subtype of melanoma are scarce in the Brazilian population.
Objectives: To describe and correlate the epidemiological, clinical, dermoscopic, and histopathological features of AM a.
This study explores the perceived effects of a home-based end-of-life social care program in palliative care in Spain, from the perspective of caregivers. A qualitative study using semi-structured interviews with 75 caregivers from the INTecum project. Non-probability purposive sampling was used to recruit the study participants.

Method: Five electronic databases and gray literature were searched on May 5, 2024. Two independent reviewers selected laboratory studies that assessed the efficacy of supplementary methods for RFM removal using micro-CT imaging.
The present study aimed to assess the tooth discoloration induced by endodontic sealers and establish a correlation between their distinct chemical compositions and this aesthetic concern. Five electronic databases and grey literature were systematically screened to identify studies comparing the tooth discoloration potential of endodontic sealers with different chemical bases. Studies that did not evaluate human teeth or did not employ spectrophotometry as a method for color measurement were excluded.

The quality and reliability of this information, especially when produced by healthcare professionals, are crucial for public health education and promotion. This study aims the content of Portuguese-language videos about the treatment of ASD on YouTube, produced by healthcare providers from 2019 to 2023, assessing their quality and alignment with evidence-based practices.

In this contribution, we report, for the first time, the occurrence of this species in the tropical southwest Atlantic. A single specimen was collected in 2000 on the continental slope off Rio de Janeiro, Brazil, at an average depth of 1158 m.

Aim: This study evaluated the quality and reliability of information about autism spectrum disorder (ASD) available in Portuguese on YouTube, based on the growing demand for accessible information about ASD and the relevance of digital platforms as sources of health information.
Methods: Using a cross-sectional observational study design, videos published in the last 5 years with more than 50,000 views were selected. The analysis consisted of two stages: characterization of the profile of the selected videos and assessment of information quality with the DISCERN Questionnaire.

Twenty incisor roots were reinforced using composite resin, varying the photopolymerisation time (40 or 120 s). Following fibre post cementation, the roots were transversely sectioned into coronal, middle and apical regions.

A total of 49 articles were identified in the initial search, and 22 articles met the eligibility criteria of this narrative literature review. Tetracycline staining results from its use in children between the ages of 6 months and 6 years, when tooth crowns are formed; the effects are dependent on the dosage, duration of treatment, stage of tooth mineralization, and activity of the mineralization process.

This study investigated the effect of the timing of primary endodontic treatment and dosage of radiotherapy on the remaining filling material (RFM) during endodontic reintervention. 60 single-rooted human mandibular premolars were distributed into five groups (n = 12), according to the timing and dosage of radiation (55Gy or 70Gy): NegativeCG-non-irradiated teeth; Endo-pre-RT-obturation before irradiation (55Gy or 70Gy); Endo-post-RT-obturation and reintervention after irradiation (55Gy or 70Gy). Roots were cleaved and analysed under stereomicroscope and Scanning Electron Microscope to quantify (%) the RFM.

We assessed the effects of CGC and GT on women affected by cancer who are at risk for hereditary breast and ovarian cancer predisposition syndrome (HBOC).
Methods: This study encompasses four time points: before the CGC session, after the CGC session when blood is drawn for GT, after disclosure of GT results, and six months following disclosure of GT results.

Objectives: To investigate the effect of cumulative doses of radiation on the pushout bond strength (BS) of a universal resin cement used in the self-etch (SE) and self-adhesive (SA) modes to the intraradicular dentin.
Materials And Methods: Forty-eight human teeth were distributed into three groups (n = 16) according to the radiation therapy dose (RT): NoRT (no-radiotherapy), 70RT (70 Gy), and 70 + 70RT (70 Gy + 70 Gy). The teeth were redistributed into two subgroups (n = 8), according to the adhesive mode: SE (NoRT-SE, 70RT-SE, and 70 + 70RT-SE) and SA (NoRT-SA, 70RT-SA, and 70 + 70RT-SA).
This study assessed the influence of the type of endodontic access cavity on endodontic reintervention. Twenty mandibular central incisors were distributed into two groups ( = 10): TradAC group-traditional access cavities and UltraAC.Inc group-ultraconservative access cavities.

Centropristes fusculus Poey, 1861 historically has variously and somewhat perplexingly been assigned to Centropristis Cuvier, 1829, Prionodes Jenyns, 1840, and Serranus Cuvier, 1816. Here, we provide evidence from comparisons of morphology, ecology, and sexual systems for its inclusion in Serranus and redescribe the species based on the holotype and 60 specimens from Brazil, the Caribbean, the United States, and Uruguay. Serranus fusculus is a simultaneous hermaphrodite, a sexual system that is relevant to its generic placement.

These specimens date back to the late eighteenth century and represent Brazilian taxa. Previous authors assumed that they were part of the collections amassed by the Brazilian-Portuguese naturalist Alexandre Rodrigues Ferreira (17561815) during his philosophical voyage to the Amazon.

This study evaluated the effect of heating on the physicochemical properties and surface changes of tricalcium silicate sealers. Three tricalcium silicate root canal sealers (Bio-C Sealer, BioRoot-RCS, EndoSequence BC Sealer), and one epoxy resin-based sealer (AH Plus; control) were tested. The effect of heating on setting time (ST) and flowability were assessed according to ANSI/ADA 57 and ISO 6876 standards.
