GENCODE produces comprehensive reference gene annotation for human and mouse. Entering its twentieth year, the project remains highly active as new technologies and methodologies allow us to catalog the genome at ever-increasing granularity. In particular, long-read transcriptome sequencing enables us to identify large numbers of missing transcripts and to substantially improve existing models, and our long non-coding RNA catalogs have undergone a dramatic expansion and reconfiguration as a result.

Small islands play a critical role in the study of plant ecology and evolution. Here, we reveal the ecology of , an endemic plant that thrives in a micro-island environment in the Western Mediterranean region. Through a detailed characterization of the habitat, including plant communities, microclimate, soil properties, and germination assays, we examine the effects of biotic and abiotic factors on the distribution of this endangered species.

The global dissemination of extended-spectrum-β-lactamase (ESBL)-producing has been considered a critical issue within a One Health framework. The aim of this study was to perform a genomic investigation of an ESBL-producing strain belonging to the globally spread sequence type/clonal complex ST90/CC23, isolated from gastrointestinal tract of a dog, in Brazil. Besides CTX-M-15 ESBL, this isolate carried mutations conferring resistance to human and veterinary fluoroquinolones (GyrA [Ser83Leu, Asp87Asn], ParC [Ser80Ile] and ParE [Ser458Ala]), and resistance determinants to disinfectants and pesticides.

Aims: Because an adequate protein supply is detrimental for the maintenance of folliculogenesis and ovulation, we evaluated the impact of maternal low protein diet on nutritional parameters, estrous cycle, ovarian histomorphometry, and on the expression of metabolic and survival signaling molecules in different follicular stages.

Main Methods: Twenty Wistar pregnant rats were divided into two groups: the normoprotein (NP) group, composed of animals that received 17% protein, and a low-protein (LP) group, composed of animals that received 6% protein during gestation and lactation period. After weaning, female rats were fed with standard diet until the 120-days-old.
