Aim: There are significant challenges in the treatment of a severe rigid ankle equinus caused by a flat-topped talus, arthrogryposis, burn sequelae, or extensive scarring. Conventional approaches, such as soft tissue releases, often fail due to joint incongruence or compromised soft tissues, thereby necessitating supramalleolar osteotomies. The classic transverse supramalleolar osteotomy (TSO) of the distal tibia can lead to secondary anterior translation of the centre of rotation of the ankle and alters mechanical and anatomical axes.

Since the discovery of nitric oxide (NO), a long journey has led us to the present, during which much knowledge has been gained about its pathway members and their roles in physiological and various pathophysiological conditions. Soluble guanylyl cyclase (sGC), the main NO receptor composed of the sGCα1 and sGCβ1 subunits, has been one of the central figures in this narrative. Aquaporin-9 (AQP9) expression is significantly increased in preeclamptic placentas. Since feto-maternal water transfer is not altered in preeclampsia, the main role of AQP9 in human placenta is unclear. Ketamine is widely used both as anesthetic and abuse drug. In this study, we investigated the effects of a wide range of ketamine concentrations (100-500-1000 μM) on calcium mobilization and the induction of cell death in undifferentiated PC12 cells, 24 h after treatment. Calcium mobilization was measured as the percentage of fluorescence one minute after depolarization by flow cytometry.
