Importance of cytochrome 3A4 and 2D6-mediated drug-drug interactions in oxycodone consumption among older adults hospitalized for hip fracture: a cross-sectional study.

Hip fracture is a common injury and represents a major health problem with an increasing incidence. In older adults, opioids such as oxycodone are often preferred to other analgesics such as tramadol because of a lower risk of delirium. Different parameters, such as inhibition of cytochrome P450 (CYP450) 2D6 and/or 3A4, can potentially lead to pharmacokinetic variations of oxycodone representing a risk of adverse drugs effects or lack of drug response.

Expression of immune checkpoint on subset of monocytes in old patients.

Background: Immune checkpoints and their ligands are important actors of lymphocytes and monocytes activation's regulation. Their expression level within T cells changes with aging. Despite the major impact of aging on monocytes, there is no data about the expression of ICs on monocytes from old patients.

Liver fibrosis evaluation using real-time shear wave elastography: applicability and diagnostic performance using methods without a gold standard.

Background & Aims: Real-time shear wave elastography (SWE) is a new two-dimensional transient elastography which had no assessment of factors associated with reliability, and had limited comparisons with other validated fibrosis biomarkers. The aim was to assess the applicability and performances of SWE for the diagnosis of fibrosis as compared with FibroTest (FT) and liver stiffness measurement (LSM) by transient elastography using two probes (TE-M and TE-XL).

Methods: Without a gold standard, the strength of concordance, discordance analysis and latent class analysis (LCM) were applied.
