Artificial intelligence (AI) is transforming cardiovascular imaging by offering advancements across multiple modalities, including echocardiography, cardiac computed tomography (CCT), cardiovascular magnetic resonance (CMR), interventional cardiology, nuclear medicine, and electrophysiology. This review explores the clinical applications of AI within each of these areas, highlighting its ability to improve patient selection, reduce image acquisition time, enhance image optimization, facilitate the integration of data from different imaging modality and clinical sources, improve diagnosis and risk stratification. Moreover, we illustrate both the advantages and the limitations of AI across these modalities, acknowledging that while AI can significantly aid in diagnosis, risk stratification, and workflow efficiency, it cannot replace the expertise of cardiologists.

Left internal mammary artery (LIMA) to bypass left anterior descending artery has demonstrated to improve survival in multivessel coronary artery disease, but its routine angiography during index coronary angiography is seldom performed as LIMA is rarely diseased. A systematic literature review and meta-analysis was conducted using PubMed and Cochrane databases selecting the studies reporting prevalence of LIMA disease among patients undergoing coronary angiography and considered for CABG. Meta-regression analysis was performed to evaluate the prevalence of LIMA disease and the relative predictive value of canonical risk factors.

Recurrent pericarditis is a common and troublesome complication that affects 15%-30% of patients with a previous episode of pericarditis. The use of percutaneous mechanical circulatory support (pMCS), such as intra-aortic balloon pump, Impella, TandemHeart and VA-ECMO, in the setting of cardiogenic shock or in protect percutaneous coronary intervention (protect-PCI) is rapidly increasing in clinical practice. A 55-year-old male with a history of severe organic mitral regurgitation treated with surgical mitral valve (MV) repair was referred for a transcatheter MV replacement due to recurrent regurgitation. After the release of the first transcatheter MV, a severe paravalvular leak coming from the lateral side was observed. To promptly tackle this issue, a second valve with further postdilation was successfully implanted and the paravalvular leak disappeared.
